  1. I would find it useful in creating more complex and easily editable components if they could be used in boolean operations and retaining their linkage to the master component.

Right now, when I use a component in a boolean operation, the green outline becomes red and editing the master component does not affect the components that were used in the boolean.

This is one way I've seen google's material design components being implemented in Sketch and I found that approach very handy.

  2. Quick font replacement is one my top needs in Illustrator, and thought it would be implemented in XD by now.

In illustrator, I tend to have few artboards and that means fewer text strings. I could, replace fonts manually most of the time but it is awesome to have the Find Type tool.

If this feature has a more appropriate place in the world, it is in XD because of the number of artboards UI design requires.

  3. A simple example. We create 4 different artboards. (1200px, 992px, 768px, 576px)
    2. Connect in prototype mode from left to right.
    3. We check in preview mode.

Now when we click anywhere, our artboards will change from the largest to the smallest.

It can be seen that after each change, the Preview window keeps the beginner value. In this case 1200px.

I would like it to automatically adjust the size of the preview window to the width of the artboard.

This will be a very good solution for a better view of responsiveness.

You can do it in two ways.

  4. This issue has been raised at least once before and closed as by design. Here is the issue and request:

    Repro:
    - open the layers panel
    - draw a shape
    - select it and press CTRL + K to make it a symbol
    - rename the symbol in the Layers panel
    - switch to the Assets panel
notice: the new symbol is still named Symbol XX
    expect:
1 - an option to name both the symbol and the instance when you first create it, so you don't have to name it twice (once in the Layers panel and again in…

  5. This feature request is perfectly in line with Adobe's push to "Accelerate your Work".

Wouldn't it be great if you could drag 20 6MB images in your repeat grid, for example, and know that XD has done the awesome work of evaluating the placeholder dimensions and optimized the dimensions & dpi of your pasted images for optimal file size or image quality?

If the user is pasting 25 images in a repeat grid that has a placeholder of 320px wide, it makes no sense that the imported images be at full resolution and dimensions behind the placeholder's mask.

    I'm suggesting…

  6. Sometimes we have to show a mock-up and simulate mouse cursor states. It would be nice to have a ready-made library available.

  7. The new layout grid is great, however: it would be useful to be able to define the total width of the layout grid with a single value. Right now you adjust it indirectly by defining the margins on either side of the grid system, which is less than useful, especially for web design.

  8. It would be nice if I were able to change my selection in the layers panel using the keyboard only.

Sketch / Studio allow for iterating through the layers list using the shortcut option + tab (or option + shift + tab) in order to change selection.

This is helpful if you have to change the z-order of a lot of layers, as with the mouse you are always at risk of moving layers into groups when dragging them around in the layers panel.

  9. It would be nice to have the same auto-select option as Photoshop in addition to displaying the width and height of the selection: it is very common to measure spaces between elements with this method.

  10. Thanks for adding underline text to the latest release of XD. I really appreciate the fact that you're still adding features like this. I've had a bit of a play with the underline text tool and have a few refinements that would make it more powerful.

    1) Allow for custom line weight. Currently the line is just the same weight, no matter the font weight

    2) Allow for custom offset to baseline

    3) Allow for variable colour.

See my mockup attached for further clarification.

  11. Not sure if I can explain this fully, but here goes. Number adjustments that are not in whole digit pixels, 205.4. When I click down or up should go to 205 or 206 respectively. Not 204.4 206.4. Maybe not necessarily a by default option, but something we can turn on. Occasionally when resizing a group of object, pixel perfect isn't well perfect. In this instance, it would be nice to fix with a quick up or down.

  13. Would be ace if smart objects (illustrator vectors in in a Photoshop smart layer) could transfer across ultimately as editable vectors in XD....

  14. The ability to preview the current Artboard in the browser to see how the webdesign looks in the right context. Thanks :)

  15. I'd like a keyboard shortcut to quickly switch a chunk of text between Point and Area text instead of clicking with the mouse.

  16. Picture the scenario. You have an art board, you copy the art board and completely alter the spacing. So now you have one art board that has a tight fitting UI, and one that has a spacious one (too spacious!)

You might play around with it for a while until you find a good point somewhere between the two art boards. But these minute changes can be difficult to keep track of.

My solution would be for art board interpolation. You select both art-boards and right click to interpolate them. This opens a screen with a simple slider that lets…

  17. A tool similar to the artboard tool in Illustrator that makes it easy to target the selection as the artboard and not the contents. This allows the user to rearrange the artboards quickly and easily. The current click target for artboards that must be used to rearrange artboards is tiny, particularly when zoomed out and makes it very difficult to rearrange single artboards as well as a complex selection of artboards.

  20. It would be great to have the ability to use the delete button to delete color/character styles and symbols (instead of having to right-click).
