Text underline improvements: line weight, offset, variable color
Thanks for adding underline text to the latest release of XD. I really appreciate the fact that you're still adding features like this. I've had a bit of a play with the underline text tool and have a few refinements that would make it more powerful.
1) Allow for custom line weight. Currently the line is just the same weight, no matter the font weight
2) Allow for custom offset to baseline
3) Allow for variable colour.
See my mockup attached for further clarification.

This is now available in CSS so should be doable in XD: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/text-decoration
Custom offset and line weight are a must-have for this in UK Gov now as they've updated their link style for accessibility/readability reasons. The line is offset more to be below the descenders and the weight changes (e.g. heavier) on hover.
It would be incredibly helpful to have this built into XD so we don't have to waste so much time adding underlines manually or using borders incorrectly — which results in extra documentation explaining how the CSS produced by XD is wrong and should be ignored (for links, at least).

In addition, support for dotted lines would be great.

Maybe also a vertical offset? Like it is in inDesign!

I agree, a must have :
1. color
2. thickness
3. distance from baseline -

3. margin from text -

Now there is an implementation of underlining, but this is not enough, I would like to have a flexible setting of the line itself, for example, transparency, thickness and indentation of the line itself.

The current underline color defaults to the text's, let us change its properties please!
1. color
2. thickness
3. margin from text -

I would like this option as well. As this would be solved using "border" in CSS, it would be great if the valid CSS border properties would be available, i.e, style, width, color, etc

Text underline styling isn't possible via CSS so there's no reason to make it possible in XD. Designers would create things that coulnd't be achieved in the development process.
