  1. Lost work. Very Angry. How is this still an issue?

    Can't believe this is STILL a problem. It happens all the time.

    1) Leave computer with files open and unsaved, it goes to sleep
    2) Wake computer up, XD is no longer running
    3) Launch XD, a bunch of windows open up, even if I didn't have them open when the computer went to sleep
    4) The files that I was working on do not show the latest changes and reverts back to the last saved version.

    Isn't UWP supposed to help prevent the need to constantly manually save files? Why not back up / save the last copy in…

      Hi,

      Just to make sure i understand: are you saying that you are saving the file by pressing CTRL + S and the file is not saved?
      You worked for 8 hrs, you saved using CTRL + S several times and yet, after you closed the application and opened it again, the whole work you thought it was saved was not actually saved?

    • [Windows] Installer does not allow installation for machines that meet the minimum system requirements (J39577)

      Our installer now has a way to detect whether or not your system is supported, which is great. Unfortunately, it’s a little too aggressive and tells us that some systems are not supported, even though they are. If this is happening to you (and you do meet the minimum system requirements), change your date format on your system by launching Control Panel > Clock, Language, and Region > Change date, time, or number formats. From there, change the “short date” format to M/d/yyyy. Then launch the Creative Cloud desktop application, select the gear icon, and click on “Check for App…

      • (Windows) Unable to save new or existing documents

        Hi,

        This is my first time using XD. I am on the latest version of XD, and using Windows 10 OS.

        I have so far been unable to save any new or existing documents.

        I have no unusual/complex characters in my username - chennig

        I have tried several different files (new and exisiting), using save, and save as, saving in different locations and still no luck.

        The files appear to be saved, but as 0kb and I am unable to open them.

          Could you try to disable your antivirus program and see if save succeeds in this case?
          Target file seems to be locked by an external process.

          Do you have the same issue when saving documents from other Win10 applications (like “3D Builder”)?

        • Cannot test with app...

          The app is so slow it will destroy any attempt to do a user test. I cannot have a participant wait 3-5 seconds for the next screen to load or wait 10 seconds if they click on a area that isnt a hit state.

          This is a critical issue and needs to be resolved for product adoption. It is unusable at the moment.

            Hey, Cody-

            We hear your frustration, and trust us, we would not release something that is so poorly performant that a user would have to wait 3-5 seconds to get a single touch to respond. However, you haven’t given us enough information to work off of. Are you trying to test using a mobile device? On the web? What version of the operating system? What mobile operating system, if any? How big is your file? Can you attach a file? We’d love to fix your issue, but we need the information to be able to do so.

          • App Crash

            XD app keeps crashing on login for me for Moto Z force 2. Not sure if it's on other devices but I'm not able to use it or preview docs. Thanks.

              There was a problem saving this file: (Error code 49)

              It happends both on my computer at home and the computer at work.

              XD version: 0.8.22.17 Beta, CS 2.4.2.61

                Hi,
                Could you send the application log file to us?
                To obtain the application log:
                - Create a new file named “AdobeXD.log” at the following location: “C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Packages\Adobe.CC.XD_adky2gkssdxte\LocalState”.
                - Then launch XD and try to save some files
                - Close XD (at this point the log file (AdobeXD.log) should contain some meaningful information that will help us debug the problem)
                - Open the application log using a text editor and copy-paste its contents into a new message on this thread

              • Crashes when opening or saving file (macOS networked account)

                This used to work in previous versions of XD (which by the way is annoying that I cannot "rollback" to older working versions), but while running macOS 10.12.6 (Sierra) with network accounts, the newest version of XD (0.8.22.17) it crashes when opening a file (such as the tutorial file) or saving a file (see video screencast). I also saw this happen with the version immediately before the current version. For reference, the current version is working with local computer admin accounts, but that is not useful in our computer lab setup.

                  Could you try the following workaround and check if it works with your setup on a network account?

                  $ rm -Rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe-XD-0.8.22.17
                  $ mkdir /Users/Shared/Adobe-XD-0.8.22.17
                  $ ln -s /Users/Shared/Adobe-XD-0.8.22.17 ~/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe-XD-0.8.22.17

                • [App] Imported image not showing in mobile app live preview

                  Mobile Platform: Android (Samsung Galaxy S7)
                  Platform: Mac iOS Sierra
                  XD Mobile: version 1.2.5
                  Mode: Tethered

                  Another funky issue with images not showing in the mobile app. I have certain images which do not render in the live preview of the mobile app.

                  I've tried dragging and dropping the image into XD and using Import. The image shows in the desktop previewer, just not the mobile.

                  Anyone else having this issue? Seems to affect PNG files only (JPG seems to work all the time).

                    When I open my adobe xd file, all the circle elements in my artboard where gone, what's left was a line.

                    • XD Locks up while opening files (Mac)

                      My team has a problem where we try to open files and it stays in the loading state forever (blue bar at the top just fills up and stays that way). We have to "force quit" Adobe XD for it to be fixed.

                      It happens on files we have stored locally, or on Google Drive. We all have the most up-to-date Adobe XD, and OSX.

                      We mostly see it on files that have a lot of artboards, but it's not like we have hundreds. Even 20 detailed artboards this happens at least once a day. It never happened before the…

                        Hello,

                        Thanks for all the feedback you guys have provided thus far. Whenever you encounter the hang again, can you please do the following:

                        1. Keep XD running, don’t force quit yet.
                        2. Open Activity Monitor (use Spotlight to launch it for instance)
                        3. In the process list, locate XD and double click it.
                        4. In the newly open window, hit the Sample button in the bottom left corner.
                        5. Save the resulted text and post it here. (Hint: it may be pretty big so you could put it on pastebin for instance and add a link here).

                        The above steps take less than a minute and would help us identify the issue faster. Thanks!

                      • Windows UI scaling affecting XD artboard scaling

                        Adobe XD version 0.8.22.17, Windows 10

                        - Go to Windows display settings and set Custom scaling to 125%
                        - Relog to current user session to apply chages
                        - Open XD

                        Expected result: UI is scaled, but the artboard is not.
                        Actual result: Everything is scaled, including the artboard. So creating a rectangle in XD, that has 200x200px size: https://i.imgur.com/YpKzWH0.png and screenshoting it on 100% scale, to measure its actual size in Photoshop: https://i.imgur.com/cw2bPd2.png Turns out, the size is 250px, so actually 125%.                         • [Windows] Sidebar text boxes clear when selecting and hitting left/right arrow

                          1. Select an element on canvas
                          2. Click on a text box in the sidebar, e.g. X or the Width
                          3. At this point the current numbers gets selected. Hit the right arrow
                          4. The cursor should move to the end of the text box, but instead the contents get deleted.

                          This is pretty annoying when changing a lot of values (e.g. to draw symetrical icons, you have no way but to calculate and input values manually, this issue makes it even more painful). I think this problem wasn't in earlier versions.

                            • [Win] Can't save at some point

                              I work in my XD file normally and after a while, randomly it seems, I can't save anymore. I hit Ctrl+S and nothing happens. I tried to open the menu and click save or save as but no luck. It keeps happening all the time so I save often now that I know so I don't lose my work too much. The file is in my Adobe Cloud folder. Also I noticed that many keyboard shortcuts stop working when that happens (like zoom commands).

                                • [Mac] Images not appearing in mobile app when opacity set to less than 100%

                                  If you set the opacity on an image to less than 100% and then run the previewer, those images won't appear. I had some black icons (PNG format) which I was too lazy to redo in grey. They weren't appearing in the mobile app. As soon as I set them back to 100%, they were there.

                                  • Dropdown needed for font selection on Windows 10

                                    I had no idea that there were more options for the fonts until I accidentally clicked on the right side of the text box. There needs to be an arrow or something, as shown in the attachment, that shows users that they have a selection to choose from.

                                      Unfortunately, this is a known issue with Windows 10. We are working with Microsoft to resolve this issue. This happens when your machine goes to sleep or pauses XD and returns to it. A reboot should temporarily fix this.

                                      Marking this as bug-watched so that we can notify you when it’s fixed in the operating system.

                                      In the design mode, when clicking the zoom tool it will occasionally zoom in 300% or so and it really funks up the flow. It acts as if it skips 5 clicks and super magnifies the area.

                                      Also, in prototype mode, the zoom tool short cut is gone...

                                        Hi Cody,

                                        I’m sorry to hear the zoom tool has been acting up for you. Would you mind sending me a few more details so we can nail down the problem? Have you noticed if the zoom to 300% happens on on certain documents or workflows? Are you using your a laptop track pad or an external mouse?

                                        For prototype mode are you referring to the toolbar that has the rectangle, ellipse, zoom, etc. tools is not there? If so that is as designed. You should still be able to zoom in/out using the short cut keys or the zoom drop down in the top right of the document.
