Center zoom on selected object
I realize XD has a "Zoom to Selection" command (Cmd-3 on Mac), but it would be better if the default behavior for zoom (Cmd-plus) would center the zoom view on a selected object, just like InDesign and Illustrator do.
Only started using XD but very impressed, intuitive and easy to use.
Would love it if when i zoomed in (using keyboard) , it centred on the selected item

Zooming in to a element is now cumbersome. "Ctrl 3" Fills the entire screen with the element. Many times you would like to simply enlarge the selected element couple of notches.
This would be easily achieved if zooming would center the view to the selected element. This means that you first click an element to select it, then press "Ctrl + " to zoom: now the view would be immediately centered to the selected element and zoomed in one step. More presses on "Ctrl + " would just zoom closer.
Cmd+ incrementally zoom in on the selected object;
Cmd– incrementally zoom out on the current view;
Cmd 3 can still work, for those who got used to it.

Thanks for sharing your feedback.
I am trying to get better here the whole picture, I understood the pain point here with CMD+ but
what about CMD -? What's your opinion about the current behaviour?
We are halfway into 2020 and still, no luck.
Users who mainly work with a mouse still need to frantically keep zooming in, zooming out, and pan around to get where they need to be. How many developers does it take to get this obvious behavior in effect ? It's not a huge feature that needs a lot of thinking and tinkering ? Or do we really need to expect some plugin developer to fulfill this request ?
I cannot believe this feature is not in XD and its July of 2020
-- Description of the feature
When pressing CMD + I want to zoom step by step into the selected object
-- Why this is valuable to you
Since I want to switch from Figma and Sketch, this is basic behaviour
this is since 2018 one of the most frustrating moments … in working with xd … please make it happen, you know its possible :)
Oh pleeaaase yes, this is driving me nuts. See Sketch for reference.

This drives me bananas. Sketch has it, Figma has it. Seems like an easy win, but every time I say that, there's a developer eager to correct me.
When you are working with your artboards in either mode, zoom in on the selected artboard/item in focus. A common feature in other Adobe products. Don't make me have to zoom and then manually pan to the item. Just zoom in on the focused item.
Adobe really should start to pay attention to such little but crucial features. It would be an absolute quick win and it's really annoying that such features are still missing in 2019.
We're almost in 2019 and XD still doesn't use an easy way to zoom in incrementally on a selection. It's either Cmd+ (one step closer to the screen's centre), or Cmd3 – BAMM!! Right in your face, far too large ! So always followed with a replacing of the hands and fingers to take a few steps back.
Okay, you partly mimicked Sketch with its Cmd3 (though it merely centers an object – no full zoom), now take a look at Flinto (and Illustrator, and InDesign) and do the right thing.
Not every user has a touch screen, allowing me to simply drag a zoom area...
The Zoom to Selection (Cmd-3) is indeed too much IN YOUR FACE !! An incremental zoom would be a much smoother transition to the desired magnification level.
