Option to capture mic audio in record mode
I've started using XD in office for wireframing live projects.
Now when I record the prototype video, I often need to narrate what's going on - esp if it's a WIP. This would help to kick-off future conversations with the client in the right direction.
Hence a record 'mic audio' option in XD would be extremely useful.
145 votesWe released this feature earlier this year! Now, you have the option of recording your voice over your videos as you capture using the Preview window.

Prototype mode: Backspace should delete wire
I would expect the backspace key to remove transitions (in Prototype mode) instead of objects/layers.
Use case: In the Design mode the users adds & removes panels, afterwards he makes the switch from Design to Prototype mode. There his mindset is to create (and remove) transitions. He wants to modify the prototype and add/remove transitions. After selecting a (blue) transition, he presses the backspace key to remove an already existing transition, but as of XD v0.6.1.13 the layer/artboard where the transition originates from disappears.
What the backspace key is in Design mode (to undo one's action = removing an object),…
13 votesIn recent releases of XD, you can now delete wires using the backspace key.

Transition: None
Would like to have an option for NO transition effect. Dissolve transition effect looks awkward when just wanting to toggle between buttons in playing the prototype.
129 votesCheck out the new “None” selection in the Segue section of the transition pop-up in the August release! :)

Support game controller navigation
There are many applications where the interface is navigated with input devices like game controllers. It would be great if we could get some support for these.
68 votesWith the May 2019 update we now support gamepad based triggers in XD. (Xbox & DualShock 4) For more details refer to this – https://helpx.adobe.com/xd/help/keys-gamepad-triggers.html

Scrollable pages in prototype full screen preview
Enable 'fit to width' and scroll pages when previewing prototypes.
Currently the full screen preview fits the height of the design within your screen, so for long desktop pages, you can't mimic a browser experience.
62 votesThis should be available in the next update of XD in May.

Disable hotspot hinting & show "link" mouse cursor in places that don't link to anything
In usability studies we need a way to drop fake hotspots that do not have to be linked, the reason that we need this is so that the user can click around more and hover over things to help the prototype not lead the user into clicking the item that we've enabled.
If we could just drawing a hotspot and linking it on every single page of a flow is not idea and just being able to draw a hotspot and link it to nothing while activating the mouse hand to still go to a pointer will help our studies…
39 votesHi Everyone,
We added a way for you to turn hotspots off on the web prototypes. You can now add “?hints=off” to your URL and no hotspots will show.
In the future, we’ll add this option to the Share Online dialog, but, for now, you can just add the additional parameter to your URL.
This request also includes some users who want us to turn off hand cursor changes. We did not do this when hotspots are off because we are unsure if this is really what people want. If your use case includes one where you want cursor changes off, please vote on this issue and make a comment:
Let us understand your use case a bit better. Thanks!

Keyboard interaction to trigger transitions
I'd love to see the ability to transition between artboards by using the keyboard.
For the UI, I'd place a keyboard icon just below the "set as home" icon. When you click it, you can see a list of current key transitions and a button to add a new one. When you click the new button, you have a box to enter the key to bind and then an arrow to link the artboard the key will transition to.
It would be important to include the ability to link keys such as the arrow keys, space bar, escape key, etc.

Hotkey for starting/stopping prototype recordings
Having a hotkey to control prototype recordings would clean up cursor activity during the recording. By necessity, the cursor currently has to navigate to and from the top right corner when the video starts and ends, something that detracts from the presentation. A hotkey would remove the need for those extra movements.
1 voteUpdating this to completed, as we already do have the functionality in the product.

Printing
Would love to be able to print out my screens. I know I can export assets and then print, but a one step print function would be awesome.
16 votesWe now support export to PDF for artboards and individual elements, which should enable you to print!

Shape/path Morph transitions
Add the option to morph an element to another from a step to the next during transitions.
For example a button in Step 1 can be linked in the prototype to a input field in Step 2. Then during the transition, AdobeXD should morph the button element to the input field.
Both elements can be made with SVG assets, and morphed with the Gsock SVG Morph animation library.12 votesCheck out the auto-animate feature, which does precisely this.

Go Back One Screen in Prototype Preview
As a user, I want to be able to go back one screen if I am viewing my prototype in preview mode so that I don't get stuck on a screen that I haven't prototyped yet.
Sometimes, I just want to test that all of the buttons on a screen take the user to the screens they are supposed to, but I may want to continuously go back to the previous screen because I may want to test a new path.
Perhaps a keyboard command would be great. You could also make it go back if you click 3 times…
1 voteWe’ve added new features recently to our shared prototype viewer that I think you’ll like. Now, when you view your shared prototype, you should be able to use the navigation buttons (as well as the left/right arrow keys) to be able to shuffle through your artboards in order, even if you have interactions defined. Check it out and let us know what you think!

Preview on Browser
Hi there,
The user should have the ability to see the mockup prototype on Browsers or other devices. This kind of feature would be an effective addition for desktop designers and mobile designers alike.
Nowadays, we are only able to preview on the a mobile device screen size, which is useless for desktop or even other device design.
Thanks
5 votesClosing this issue due to inactivity on an open query. You can already preview a web artboard in full screen mode, which gives you as much real estate as you have on your screen. If there’s something specific you’re looking for, please do file a separate idea in the system!

Advanced Overlay Option (background Treatment)
I would like to have the option of selecting how the background behaves when an overlay is being presented. this is important as I feel currently I'm restricted for the most part to 'Dissolve Transition' as it is weird showing the background sliding when included in the overlay artboard itself
Additionally, combined with timed transitions, one can showcase notifications
.Lastly, the ability to select the option of whether the overlay is pinned on Viewport (current implementation) or Artboard (for dropdowns beyond screen cut-off)
18 votesWith the auto animate feature, you can now create higher fidelity animations that would cover many of these requests. Also, just in general, it’s best to submit each idea as a separate ticket so that we can better merge them together with other suggestions! Note that for the last one, you should upvote symbol states:

Trigger with PC keyboard
I would like to use a PC keyboard as a trigger to make prototypes of products using hardware switches.
By using USB devices you can use various switch parts.
1 voteYou can now use keyboard triggers in XD. Check out the blog post: https://theblog.adobe.com/xd-may-2019-update-create-design-systems/

Prototype 'Transition Options' in property inspector instead of in a popup
The current UI for transitions is clunky and flows awkwardly. Every time I try to link to something lower on the page, the pop-up box appears below the 'fold'/screen and I have to move the artboard into view and re-click on the 'from' element to get the pop-up to appear. You've already trained the users to use the side-panel (right) to change elements in the design view, I think it makes sense to place the transitions in the same spot. It would greatly simplify the flow, as well as returning to edit transitions.
3 votesWe’ve recently introduced a property inspector in our prototype mode. Check it out!

Scene based Transition
Feature request.
Using this feature user can create the artboard based animation very easily. XD has to create a new scene based frame to select the artboard to animate.
- Create a scene based frame.
- Drag and drop the artboard to animate in frame
- Draw the object in the artboard
- Same objects would display in other artboards drag and drop in the frame
- Move the objects in the frame. (same would refresh in artboards)
- Automatically animate the objects (Shape, position, color etc...)
1 voteYou should be able to do this with the new auto animate feature!

Provide Fixed Position on Prototype mode
It make more sense if Fixed Position on Prototype mode instead of Design which designer tend to arrange the "move" and flow there
3 votesIn the most recent release of XD, we’ve moved the fixed position option to the new property inspector in Prototype mode.

Preflight check to ensure all artboards are connected
Currently, there aren't any safeguards to ensure that all pages are accounted for and each button directs correctly.
It would be really helpful to be able to specify a button with a target at the outset, so that upon publishing a quick preflight check would ensure that everything is linked correctly and no pages are missing from the site architecture.
2 votesYou can now do this preflight check through the new Share Mode, which will highlight the artboards that are linked. Hope this helps!
