Hotkey for starting/stopping prototype recordings
Having a hotkey to control prototype recordings would clean up cursor activity during the recording. By necessity, the cursor currently has to navigate to and from the top right corner when the video starts and ends, something that detracts from the presentation. A hotkey would remove the need for those extra movements.
Updating this to completed, as we already do have the functionality in the product.

*Update on my previous comment*
I have tried the shortcut hotkey again on another document with far fewer artboards and have gotten the 'start recording' shortcut key to work. It is when I try it on another document with a lot of artboards that the shortcut stops working.
For reference, the document where I can use the shortcut key has ~10 artboards. The document which the hotkey fails has 274 artboards.

The current hotkey for starting/stopping a recording on MacOS of ⌃⌘R (CTRL+CMD+R) does not work for me, as others have reported also below.
I am using Mac OS Catalina (10.15.5) and version 44.1.12.5 x64 of Adobe XD for reference.

I'm trying to record a prototype but the shortcut isn't working. When the prototype is for a mobile device (320 x 568 for exmple) it works.
But when I try to record a desktop version (1920 x 1080 for exemple) it doesn't work.

Hi Timothy,
There is already a hot-key for toggling recording - Ctrl-Cmd-R.
Its not located in an extremely obvious part of the menu (under Window). Perhaps that's something that could be improved.
Thanks,
Daniel
