This is a must have … Adobe XD wants to be a easy to use app. But if I had to add rectangles over rectangles to have a ordinary cutout of an image and a border/shadow or background of a semitransparent image it makes everything complicated and frustrating. That this is in the backlog since 2016 … unbelievable …
The work with images to make a proper cutout is much too complicated. make it easy like in Adobe InDesign! No masks and stacking rectangles needed for simple borders/cutouts … Just drag and drop or import and assign a border. Voila!

Yes. InDesign is so simple. One step less. I don't have to draw a mask. I just have the mask by default. At the moment it's really confusing because XD images has this default mask but I din't understand the behaviour of this and so sometimes I end up with two masks and it's confusing.

If I use the pathfinder to do a gradient from left to right, XD makes me a gradient from bottom to top. This is a bug, but Adobe do not allow to add bugs any more …

Some big features are missing, but this is one of these small things which could be picked up from AI and ID. I'm loosing time writing feature request to this small things which should be a given. Please do not force your clients/community to request this things … that's frustrating … This should be fixed in 2016, And now it's 2019 ………

Design has to be often presented in all medias. If I start with print-designs (Corporate Design, posters etc.) often the design has to pretend in web. So it would be great to import the designs from InDesign to have the elements quickly and make my web design or newsletter design or …

Thanks for your answer. Yes, I have an image, rectangle, vectors and text on my layout and then realized that I need more filters and image editing for all this (not only the image but also the whole layout/design)… (also, because XD made my image-and-vector-colors too saturated and wrong (I pasted in my vectors from AI) So it would great to easily switch my layout to Photoshop to have all the editing and save for web dialogue and continue my work in Photoshop seamless. Is this interesting for you to implement? Thanks!

This is missing:
1. convert image in sRGB, Adobe RGB, ECI … with a preview like in PS!!!
2. correct color after exporting (in XD the color and effects looks different to the exported PNG!!!)
3. embed color profiles!!!
4. change size (from 1024x768 to 1080x810px for example)
5. PNG: transparent background or notMatza

Maybe this is a bug too. The border is checked but nothing is visible. And when the group border is marked just the image-rectangle-border will get a border. But the image-rectangle is in the mask, so in this case just left and right is visible … puuh
