Return path to original shape if converted accidentally
accidental double clicks turn my rectangles into editable paths, then if i click the path point and realize i double clicked ( instead of single click) I press undo, but at that point undo will not turn the path back to a rectangle every time. so the shape remains a path, I feel like there should be a better (more accident proof) option to turn the shape to a path

I didn't get it that how and when the shape gets converted into a path and my rest of the time is consumed finding this mystery that where is the shape with the roundness option?? It is a big issue and probably considering it as a bug @adobe if you are listening please fix it as I face this problem many times when I want to check the roundness of the shape.
Please fix this.
Thank You

When I'm dealing with a pretty large set of groups/layers/symbols, and I need to gain focus on a particular element in this tree of items, I have to do a lot of double clicking to focus and refocus and deep focus... until I finally reach that item. In this process, I found myself accidentally converting objects into paths; this has throw a wrench in a lot of my work.
Is there a way to avoid this without having to lock ever single item of every single group/layer/symbol/etc...?

Please have a prompt to convert to shape option. I would argue that this "convert to shape" is more of a hindrance than anything. For a program made for UI/UX, this is a major UX issue.

Why does "undo" not work for this accidental conversion? WTF? This is costing me so much time. I am testing Xd on a new project, but this may drive me back to Sketch.

Gosh!!!... I thought I was stupid, filling randomly my mocks with uneditable paths!! But not... is the insane amount of usability flaws that makes me feel like a stupid to keep on using XD.
And worst of all... only 21 votes for request!!! There must be out there so many users suffering from real mind issues... asking them selves what the hell they did wrong.
Really... this "adobexd.uservoice.com" is absolutely hidden, and few people knows exists. Worst of all, each time I need to ask for new issues, I've to login again and again, it doesn't save my user profile... good tactic to make give up the angry users.

Please address this. As a feature, it's far too error prone and time consuming to fix.

This issue has become a major annoyance. I am constantly having to go back and fix components because a shape was accidentally turned into a path. This issue was also brought up almost two years ago. Please fix this soon Adobe. If you fix some of these minor issues it will keep your customers from switching to Figma and other competitors.

This problem has been massively compounded by the addition/use of component states because if you accidentally convert a shape to a path it breaks the animation as well and turns it into a regular transition.
Proposed solutions.
1. A warning box that says "are you sure you want to convert this shape into a path"
2. Checkbox in the preferences that says "never convert shapes to paths"
3. A command-click is required to degrade a shape to a path. -

I also feel this is a massive problem easily overlooked, as accidental double clicks happen too easilly - double click should not change a shape to path in my opinion. My main reasoning is that since double-clicks are already used to "go deeper" and enter a group, going one level too far and transforming happens without notice.
Most of the time I only later notice I can't change border radius anymore and have to re-draw the shape.
Prefer that the shape>path conversion happens either in the right-click menu or by a slightly more difficult combination, like having to hold shift additionally.

Can't believe this is still an issue! This needs to be fixed ASAP!

Yes, agreed. This should not convert to path unless you actually make a change. This is especially obnoxious when it disables you from specifying corner radius.

I totally agree, this is the worst user experience. Note that when objects get converted to paths it affects some of the CSS available such as border-radius in "share for development" and when you export to Zeplin

I only noticed this from the icon in the layers panel. Shouldn't this happen only when using the pen tool? Or since this is happening by default, how do I turn rectangle paths into shapes?

Scanning all the right click menus, and nothing can convert it back. In this case, I make an identical shape to replace which is not convenient.

Please, make this possible. :(
I find it extremely difficult to work with Rectangles in XD due to that. I work with a lot of groups and click a lot on groups which very, very often leads to accidental conversions. It's extremely frustrating to see a lot of your rectangles converted to shapes when you don't expect it.
