[Windows] Let the eyedropper work on the whole screen
I would like to be able to pick colors from another window (e.g. I have specs opened in my web browser).
As an update on this, this is a limitation of the UWP platform. I’m keeping this open in case Windows decides to update their security platform to allow selecting outside of the window.

Not sure why adobe photoshop supports this on windows, but XD doesn't if it's a windows limitation? Wouldn't that mean that Photoshop couldn't do it either?

Just a suggestion: I have earlier used Axure as a mockup tool and one of the things, that I have used suprisingly often is the ability to have to "pick color from screen (l)" tool to pick a color outside the application itself.
Example: Right now I am designing an idea for a new component operating within an existing system. So right now my options are either to loosely aim for a similar color or to create a screenshot to paste into my project in order to use the "pick color from screen tool" to extract the right color.

It looks like some of the posts here are from 2018. I'm attempting the same thing and I'm having the same problem. I'm on Windows 10. Is this something that will be added in the future? I'm sooooo dependent on selecting colors from other sites. Please add!

It seems like a serious limitation to not be able to color pick outside the window. Can we at least color pick from other XD windows? I mix bitmaps and shapes so it would be very useful

Very annoying this wont work for windows, I used to have a mac and it did work fine outside the XD software - surely we have the tech smarts now to make it work just like Mac for windows???
There is no practical use now for eyedropper in XD using windows so if you can never make it work, remove the function from view? -

Welp, this works with the Mac build, so can I assume you are on Windows 10 ?

It would be incredibly useful when exploring a design to be able to color pick colors outside of the XD window; on existing websites etc.

Please note that this is a Windows UWP limitation; we are only allowed to select colors from the application window.
