Select multiple items across different groups
Shift+Click allows to select multiple items.
Cmd+Click allows to select inside a group.
Cmd+Shift+Click would be nice if it selected items across different groups.
It's very useful to change details (i.e. color) across multiple items inside groups (i.e. icons).
Thanks!
This feature is now available in the March release! If you don’t see an update, select the … icon in the Creative Cloud desktop app and select “Check for App Updates.” If you have further feedback on this feature, please feel free to file a new ticket!

This took Adobe 3 years to "complete" and it was only halfassed like almost all of XD - this does not work when selecting items within stacks. Please just discontinue Xd, put us out of our misery so we are forced into using the clearly superior Figma...

Can anyone confirm this worked? I've tried CMD + SHIFT + CLICK and it doesn't for me. I can only select the groups and not the items within them.

Really bad UX

This feature is incomplete: I have to unstack my group to select within the child groups.
Clearly, as a central feature of XD, stacks should be supported … 2 years later.

Hi all,
For Mac users: Works for us in the 2021 update:
Try: SHIFT + COMMAND + CLICK, this gets us to click multiple nested text areas in different grouped components.

This is not working. I'm trying to select every single asset to Mark for Export, and it only will select the groups, without selecting everything inside. Even when all of the groups are opened/expanded, this does not work.

Doesn't work if any of the groups has Stack enabled.

I can select an individual object within a component with CMD+Click, but i cannot select multiple objects across different components with the CMD+Shift+Click?

but you cannot select them if they are on different artboards?

Thanks for the feature. But it doesn't work if an object is within a mask. Any reason for this? I'd like objects in masks to behave the same way in this regard.

Hey everybody,
Adobe Xd 17.0 (released today) added selection across different groups, give it a try.

How is this not a feature in 2019! How can you design a program for UI/UX and totally miss the point of USER EXPERIENCE.

especially while searching, i.e. I should be able to name items uniquely and search then simply shift+select them all from the layers panel, even if they are in different artboards.

I still don't see how this is not the number one request. It's such a basic necessity when designing a layout. It doesn't necessarily have to be handled how the OP mentions above. You should just be able to command+click any items on screen or in the layers panel whether they are in the same group or not!
