Locked objects should be completely disabled
At the moment a locked object can still be selected, hindering the ability to select an object underneath.
It would be great if locked object would be completely disabled, similar to how an illustrator locked object behaves.

How is this not implemented after all this time? This is basic functionality that could save us all a lot of time.

Can't believe this is still not implemented, really makes the workflow slower and annoying, Adobe really don't care about XD anymore, moving on to Figma

Even though now we can cmd click through the locked layers, it still makes no sense. Locked layers should just be locked and you should be working with only what you care about: items that are unlocked.
I agree with others - it's a daily - hourly - every minute annoyance. Please fix! :-)

this is a daily issue that really drives me crazy and makes working so annoying and slow

Making a locked element unselectable would be a really nice quality-of-life improvement. And you can add a shortcut, like SHIFT+ALT+CLICK to allow to select a locked item (just like CTRL+CLICK allows in illustrator to start selecting elements underneath.
At the moment it's impossible to move objects behind a locked object by dragging them unless they have a spot to grab them that's not underneath the locked element. Consider here the case of a locked PNG with transparent background... a NIGHTMARE to work with stuff underneath.

In practice, it is very often the case that you have to rebuild an element because you only have a pixel graphic and need it as a vector. There is an urgent need to make it possible to rebuild images by making a locked layer (on the top layer) clickable for the elements below it

This is just a basic function, I am disappointed after clicked the software update every single time. You're forcing me to change figma.

Could you please fix this? Driving me mad!

YES! PLEASE. This defeats the purpose of locking.

It's 2021!!!
ALLOW US TO UNLOCK ALL OBJETCS!!!!
WTF is your Xd design team problem, ADOBE?
We can UNLOCK all objects in other Adobe apps, BUT NOT Xd???
Seriously, WTF is wrong with you???
It drives me crazy that I can not do this.Implement it on Xd...it's worked amazingly on the other apps FOR YEARS!!!
Are you trying to push us ALL to Figma???
I guess so.

I want to lock it in order to not move it, not accidentally touch it, why would I need to select it anyway?

It's 2021 and this is still an issue? If designing at the speed of thought was the main focus, I can't for the life of me understand the logic behind keeping locked objects selectable. Did I miss something?

Omg this drives me nuts. I have an invisible button on top of everything for my prototype (to help drag animation) but I can't select the layers under even when I lock the layer. Meaning I have to continually show / hide the layer.

Yes, a locked object should not be selectable

I agree on this. It would also be great if you could pin a layer to be at the top of the list. So it could be locked, visible but you click the things below it and always have new layer go below it.

This is an issue that seems minor, but I'm betting it's enormously responsible for turning new users away from XD when they encounter it.
