An error occurred while saving the comment mjb commentedThis is hilarious.
6 years since the feature request... 6 YEARS!!!!!!!That to NOT implement basic functionality available in every other design and word processing software since the day they were released.
Is this a KPI for XD?
An error occurred while saving the comment mjb commentedAdd basic yet fundamental functionality that should've been there from version 1 without having to vote for it, it's tedious and frustrating.
I can think of a lot of things, bulleted lists, numbered lists... Basically, the things that ALL design and word processing software have would be a start.mjb supported this idea · -

Apologies! I sent the Email to the wrong ticket.
An error occurred while saving the comment mjb commentedLet's just use logical outcomes shall we?
Why on earth do component states not resize when the component is resized?
Resizing a component should be a single action.
Right now you need one resize action per state and then ensure that the positioning is exactly the same for all states after resizing. Another feature request which is really a bug report...mjb supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment mjb commentedIt's insane that resizing a component with several states requires going through all the states and resizing them individually, there should be a way of doing this in one go.
In all honesty, the WHOLE way interactions and component states work should be reconsidered from the ground up or it's just going to get worse and worse and worse rather than better and better and better...

An error occurred while saving the comment mjb commentedReading all the comments it becomes very clear that XD is a flawed product with no QA and no respect for its users. It is insulting that the users have to vote for a product to work AS IT SHOULD. These are no feature requests, just cries for XD to be made PROPERLY.
An analogy would be having to "feature request" a word processing software for being able to use capital letters.

Please note that stacks is a feature that is intended to be used at design time, and does not dynamically shift the stack in preview. I’m going to rewrite this particular request to be more precisely about the latter suggestion.
An error occurred while saving the comment mjb commentedThere should be no differentiation between design and prototype, Design SHOULD be the foundation for prototyping as that is the way it works in the real world and is the only logical way of dealing with it.
Otherwise one has to design twice, once for the design and once for prototyping which is completely ridiculous. No interactive application ever has worked like this so I don't see any good reason why XD does other than lazy and shabby development.

An error occurred while saving the comment mjb commentedXD is incredibly inconsistent with the way its interface behaves. It breaks every rule in the book of UI design. The people responsible should read Nielsen or Raskin urgently.
I won't go into an in-depth list of inconsistencies and plain incongruencies, that's not my job, it's Adobe's, but as an example:
- I select something in the layer stack
- I paste something
- the pasted element is placed at the very top of the layer stack independently of what I had selected. Then:
- I select something which is inside a group in the layer stack
- I paste something
- the object is pasted UNDERNEATH the selected object
?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?this kind of behaviour is inexcusable and shabby.
While I'm at it, stop reinventing the wheel.
Every other Adobe product has rulers and guides that work perfectly well. Why change the way they work in XD? why the inconsistencies within the Adobe suite?
It's beyond frustrating to have to scroll all the way up to the top of a several thousand-pixel high artboard just to drag a horizontal guide down to where I'm working, especially when this hasn't been a problem in any other software of the last 25 years!

Alternatively, just stop XD for good. It's just WRONG.
