I would also expect new layers (e.g. drawing a basic shape) to be created above the selected layer. Currently it is very time consuming when you want to create additional artwork on areas and sections that are at lower layers.

デザイン作業中結構な頻度で下に隠れたオブジェクトをどうにか選択して最前面に貼り付け直すということをやっていますが、
最背面や最前面に貼り付けのショートカットがあって、
コピーしたものを選択中のオブジェクトの上下どちらに貼り付けできるのか
ショートカットで選べたらこの無駄な時間をなくせるなと感じることが多いです。

This would make auto-animate so much easier to work with. It’s really buggy if you don’t keep the layer-order exactly the same between artboards, which is really hard to do with the current “new thing always on top” behavior.

+1 >> Pasting on top of selected object + paste with positioning the pasted object at the top left corner are two key features for any power- UI designer. Not for nothing these two features are implemented in Sketch since the beginning.

it's super frustrating that pasted layers automatically get put on top of ALLLL my other layers. I waste SO much time. I'm only using XD because my client's designers use it. Otherwise I go back to Figma whenever I can.

My god it's 2021 and we still don't have this. Such a simple win to implement. I literally spend 10-20% of my time repositioning copied things. I really hate XD.

Please Adobe, I beseech you to tackle this seemingly simple, common sense functionality. Not only is automatically pasting a layer to the top of the stack entirely weird, but I can't always move it back down to the position that I require it. Most of the time, it won't let me and I have to literally copy everything below it and then paste it again to get it into the right order. I love LOVE this product, but this is one of the quirks that makes it almost frustratingly unusable in some instances.

I dont understand every software using layer c4d > Photoshop> after effect> past above the selected layer and not at the top we spend 15% to replace a the good place every layer.

This is a clarified re-posted request because previous requests have been missunderstood as the Duplicate functionality (Cmd+D on Mac, Ctrl+D on Win), and then they have been marked as 'Feature-Completed' when the feature has not been completed and is actually very important for us to have.

Please can you make it so we can copy a layer and then choose where that layer is pasted back into the layer stack by selecting a different layer, on top of which is the location in the stack we want it to be pasted.

This will help us to reorder layers in the stack much more efficiently.

Adobe, please address this. Let's say you copy something from one artboard to another, but you want it to be in a certain place in the tree (above or below a certain layer). But when you paste, it always goes to the top of the pile. This is SUPER annoying.

Yes. This feature is available in figma. But why not in XD?

Can we have a simple paste in front feature like we have in Illustrator to cut selected layers and paste on top of selected layer. It will help to manage the layer stack quickly.

Duplicating covers only scenarios where the desired element is on the same artboard and acutally the same element.

Pasting can be with any element from whatever source.

Elaine - pasting above selected layer would be useful for example when I need to copy design element in the exact z-order in a very long list of layers to keep it clear.

With current solution I need to scroll down this long list and find this place again (actually happens a lot to me as I work with long sales pages a lot)

Duplicating is completely different use case.
