Commenting and making annotations in design OR on shared prototype online
it's pretty self-explanatory.. you can give feedback by commenting and making annotations on the prototype, if someone posts something you get an email with a summarium of all the feedback or you get notified via creative cloud.. there could be settings where you want to be notified and if instantly or like 1 hour later!
this is valuable to me because it makes the communication easier, which otherwise would lead to tons of emails going back and forth.
With our November release, you can now add comments to shared prototypes! Comments are contextual to the artboard. Please check it out and let us know what you think. Feature improvements should be suggested as new ideas in UserVoice.
Thanks!

The ability to add annotations/notes to the prototype would be very helpful. Particularly at the start of a project to be able to have numbered pins that on click/rollover explain the issue or point to the client would be very helpful.

Adding a feedback/comment area to the public share view to gather feedback on a per frame basis (making it a 2-way communication platform for designers) would take the usefulness of this software to the next level, and shorten the workflow substantially (Glip and/or Slack/etc. integration?)
XD has strong cloud integration already, but if this was live updating (or even on a delay, with "commit changes" or something), allowing end users/testers to make comments to the designer that appear as annotations in the design/prototype mode, and allow the designer to annotate each frame for the end user/testers, the workflow for making changes would be incredible!

I think this would be a great idea. As a suggestion to this feature would it be possible to use like a pin icon or something small as to "pinpoint" specifically where that comment or suggestion is being directed. This icon could be used in numerous ways for both the designer and the user.

Yes please! Something like sticky notes in Acrobat will do just fine. Invision has also a very good solution to this.

I agree - access only by those emailed file. Offline password protection for non-cloud distribution. Prototypes are the genesis deliverables for a project - the blue prints. That said, they MUST be secured. I work for TCS / Tata - the largest company in India - we have all tried Adobe XD and love it - but can't use the share feature because of security risks. TCS provide solutions for GE Aviation, GE Capital, GE Transportation, GE Power, GE Oil & Gas, GE Healthcare, Delta, The Home Depot, and obviously many many more Forture 500 companys... ALL whom require STRICT security guidelines. Adobe will lose a lot of business without this. iRise, for example, offers very secure protection on shared deliverables.

Ditto, ditto, ditto. Love XD - seems to only be lacking annotation ability.

We really need annotations to communicate our design with our developers!

As a UX-prototyper, I would like to have a place to add "Artboard Notes" on each artboard. This would be a place where I can share comments explaining the designs for QA, Product Manager and Developers. Maybe I could even add color and specs, html snippets, etc, and more. This is highly valuable to me, because doing this now makes my prototypes VERY messy.
When I share on the web, or export to PDF or PNG Artboards, I would like the option to show these notes revealed as an overlay, or to the side of the artboard (possibly in a 1-pixel black outline box)

As a designer, I would like to allow users of my shared click-prototypes to be able to comment on different Artboards. This is very valuable to me because we can all catch and markup any text, incorrect button, contents or links, right away - or any other details that prototype viewers might notice. Great for feedback prior to going into development.
This is not an easy feature because the shared prototype must be locked down so that comments are not overwritten.
If there is a better way to do this, I would appreciate having in the shared mockups.
I recommend using Acrobat-style commenting. Yellow ? icon, when clicked on shows written details.

A feature for acquiring feedback in form of threaded comments; offering easy and convenient collaboration across team members. Would be greatly appreciated by agencies that have multiple designers working on one project as a team, and furthermore teams working remotely.

I think adding notes (as on Photoshop) while on prototype mode is a great way to express designers ideas, metrics, animation, links to examples, and other crazy (creative) stuff that we want to communicate to developers, and that can never be covered by any software, thanks already.

I would use XD exclusively if this feature was added.

Ditto for this feature. Perhaps once comments are submitted we can go to the published link and see comments pop-up as we go through the prototype.

+1 for a way that clients can easily give feedback without the need for any additional software / subscription. It's the only thing currently stopping us from using xd.

The idea is to have "tool tips" that can popup or show themselves while you are testing the app. The idea can also be for things that cause usability issues, like yes/no, on/off questions that need to be asked prior to doing something. That way, you could also share notes about things like interactivity, animations, general notes about things like color options, etc, etc, etc, while testing.
In design mode, there is a text property for text objects. You would add an additional text object for tooltip/notes to those text objects, and/or to all objects. Then there would be an option for show on active (when the art board loads), show on hover (for web), show on press/hold (for mobile), etc.
Right now, I'm replicating this with blank "info" square objects on top of my other buttons/objects, and with identical extra artboards that now contain that extra text/image/info, and extra wiring that would not be done in the app, which also looks less efficient and takes up space in the software while working.
Thanks for thinking about it!

Extremely important to our work flow. I use XD 8-10 hours a day now.

I'd love to see a form of "Notes" to explain the prototype wireframe. I'd also LOVE to export all the artboards in some kind of workflow map view to see how the artboards are connected.
