Scrollable Area (not scrolling whole artboard)

Define a scrollable area within an artboard

This provides real-world app use cases, such as a table, slideshow, or iOS dropdown lists.

Hi everyone,

I’m excited to announce that with XD 30 we’ve added support for Scroll Groups. Try it out and please let us know your feedback.

With our May release you can scroll long artboards: http://blogs.adobe.com/creativecloud/may-update-of-adobe-experience-design-cc/ This is the first step towards real scrolling, you can expect more in the coming months. Please download it, give it a try and let us know what you think. Thanks!

Need to be able to show a client in prototype how a site/app scrolls in iOS

I keep running into a problem with the scrollable area. I set up a artboard 1366x1024 that I would like to use as a fixed layout.
    I save the project.
After I open the project again I get a scrollbar. The viewable area is now 1366x763 ...
No matter what I do I can no longer (it worked fine a week ago) get XD to preview in the original size.
    Any ideas?

Great after I login .. I have to writing everything again..

Horizontal and vertical scroll would be great. If you make the Group scrollable and not the whole page.

i.e Principle Prototype has this feature. Making groups scrollable.

I want to create a UITableView using Repeat Grid. I want to add more than 10 rows to show my clients.

The Repeat Grid requires the height for all 10 rows, but I want to limit the height as I want to put some other elements below the table.

Maybe it's useful if create a box for Repeat Grid and the grid scrolls within that box.

It would be great for the repeat grid to scroll if the number of items it contains is greater than the viewable area.

Also it would be great if we could click within 1 repeated grid member and navigate away from it to display different detailed content based on the grid member that was clicked. Would make for great demos.

To me, the repeatable grid is the killer feature of XD.

    Thanks

Just to clarify the current behavior further:

    * Currently, only artboards created from one of the built-it templates will scroll when made taller than their original size. (For custom-sized artboards, we don’t know how tall the viewport should be, so it can’t automatically become scrollable).
    * That will change soon -- you'll be able to manually control the viewport size independent from the artboard size, even for custom-sized artboards.
    * If you need fixed headers, footers, nav bars, etc. that don't scroll -- please upvote https://adobexd.uservoice.com/forums/353007/suggestions/13031847

The new scrollable option is great but it broke interactivity! It doesn't preserve scroll position anymore!
The prototype actions menu should offer a new special option:

Destination page scroll position = "Preserve vertical scroll position" or "Go to top of the page"

Please vote for this to fix the scrollable artboards issue with scroll position:

I was expecting more like you can make a fixed header and fixed tab bar, so the scrolling area would be inside.

And it would be awesome if you can make a scrollable feature in parts of the design.

Agree with other. The scroll is needed, now its time for Fixed Elements, area scroll.

It's great to see that this feature is on it's way. Next step would be allowing for fixed elements. Then obviously it would be awesome to create a custom scrollable area, a little like repeat grids where you can set the bounds and then anything inside can scroll.

Couldn't really find how to define "Scrollable area" .. it seems this is something predefined, matching the size of the default art boards, which for some strange reason have a down scaled size..

It's great that the last update included scrollable screens, but at the moment it is only really usable for web designs. (and even then without fixed headers).

What would be better than a 'scrollable screen' is a scrollable container - i.e. create a long or wide object and set a mask over it that is scrollable. You could then choose whether that content scrolls horizontally, or vertically so that the designer can then choose whether it is a normal scrolling section, or a slideshow.

I don't understand how the new feature "Scrollable artboards" works. For me, it seems only to work if I use the default artboards... Are there any tutorials?

    在制作原型的过程中,画布高度自定义过后,画面太长会导致画面整体缩小,无法形成上下拖动预览,希望在下个版本可以加入这个小功能,参考网址,https://modao.cc/
In the process of prototyping, the canvas after a defined height from the screen too long will result in reduced overall picture and can not form drag up and down preview, hope the next version can be added to this little feature, refer to the URL, https: //modao.cc/
