Pasting tabbed text from Illustrator ignores all tab formatting (tabs indents lost).
Would be nice to have tab control support including distance and alignment type.

I’m leaving this open for now, but if you’re interested in using color swatches from Photoshop and Illustrator, you can export them to a CC Library and use them in the Assets Panel directly within XD. Hope that helps!

Another problem with the current implementation is that XD has no way to apply the selected color to the border. In other words, selecting a color from either the XD color asset palette or the CC library palette will always apply it to the fill. No way to access the shared palettes for a stroke.

It should also be noted that adding colors as assets to an XD document does not add them to the color picker in design mode (I think it should). It is in the design palette where I set the stroke color (shared palettes are not accessible for strokes which is a problem).

Perhaps what would be most desirable would be the ability to use the eye-dropper on an element and pickup all of it's styling and - like Illustrator - be able to apply that style to a selected element. Very tedious currently to apply styles in XD, generally have to do all that work in Illustrator and port into XD.

A detail of this feature that would be nice is if I could choose to scale text, or not, when scaling a group. Take a bar chart mockup as an example; I want to scale the graph/chart without changing the text label size. A checkbox that allows me to not scale the font would be similar in nature to line weight scaling in Illustrator; the position of the font scales with the graph however the font size remains the same.

This particular behavior would also allow me to adapt grouped elements to responsive widths quickly without having to rework all the fonts.

    Hi Elaine,

Not clear what "no status" state means, could you clarify?

Currently this issue is my biggest complaint with XD - the in-ability to select multiple items or portions of multiple items (direct select vs. group select as implemented in Illustrator) prevents any type of drawing/layout work from occurring directly in XD. Simply unusable in it's current state. All drawing and layout adjustments must be done in Illustrator and pasted into XD which is not the most efficient or delightful experience.

Currently, within XD you cannot draw a marquee to select multiple objects from within a group as you suggest below. Clicking anywhere outside of a group object will exit the group, or worse, will select some object outside the group. This makes it impossible to complete/modify layouts within XD.

Agree with Praline, problem is not solved. I cannot lasso/drag select or even shift+click multiple items in isolation mode which is very important. Double click as action for exiting isolation mode works well since it does not overlap with any interactions you may have with objects in the group while in isolation mode. Very annoying currently in that I can not work in isolation mode at all in any effective way... would characterize this as a defect.

    Related Concept:
Designer can select element on any page, like today, but rather than having to drag the link, they can select a page in the right panel (page list) and click a "Link to" button. This would be a secondary way to connect items that bypasses the current zoom-pan-scroll spaghetti mess.

The "Page" panel could perhaps have some kind of link inventory/management... reminiscent of how effects are shown on Illustrator and photoshop.

I'd like a resource-panel that lets me generate or save randomized "lists" to apply to repeat grids. For example, I'd like to generate a list of random "states", "usernames", "street addresses" and "date stamps" that I can quickly apply to my repeat grid. I could also add my own .txt file lists to the panel so that I can quickly access them when building a prototype rather than having to find them on my desktop and drag them into XD.

I'd like to see this as a category in the symbols/asset library.
