Drag-select multiple artboards
I was in the middle of designing, and then realised that I needed to increase the length of a previous artboard and add in more data. Now to do that I first need to move all the artboards below it further down. But to that, I have to individually select each artboard to create a group - and then move them. This in my case meant selecting 20 artboards one by one. Doing this is a big pain, and often one wrong click lost all the selections. :( :( :(
An easier way would have been to have drag-select action…
12 votesWe’ve added marquee select of multiple artboards in Preview 3! Download it now and try it out.

Dynamic content spacers/content aware object placement
I attached an image explaining the idea. In short - cut our design time by 50%. When adding content to content blocks you almost always need to do the tedious task of selecting everything beneath and moving it to create space for the changes. I want to eliminate this task by using Dynamic content spacers. Just hover over a border and connect that border to another - lock it and type in your prefered px / point or % - your preference and voila. Every time you make changes the design just moves magically with all the content :)

Paste in place
Ability to paste master elements in place to avoid them not being aligned from page to page
7 votesAs mentioned in the comments, you can copy (CMD + C) from one artboard, select another artboard by clicking on its title and paste (CMD + V). It should paste it on the same place as the original, on the new artboard.

Easily switch between landscape/portrait orientations
Would be nice to be able to switch between landscape/portrait modes when you start a new design (or even while working on an existing design).
Now all templates start as portrait views and you can only mimic a landscape orientation by creating a custom size template.
3 votesYou can already switch between landscape and portrait orientations by clicking on the button in the property inspector. Please let us know if you’re looking for something more specific!

Customize rectangle corners separately
You can currently round corners of squares by clicking and dragging to your desired radius. I wish I could:
1. only round certain corners (ie, only 2 not all 4)
2. enter the exact radius I want (used to be able to do that easily in the right panel, but that option has disappeared)- would be beneficial for handing off files to developers1 vote -
Presentation Mode like InDesign (Shift + W)
It would be great to have a presentation mode like with InDesign for quickly viewing lots of artboards quickly!
4 votesAs Peter mentioned, our full screen Preview can take over the entire screen and, as of 10.11, doesn’t leave a chrome around it. I believe this best mimics Presentation Mode in InDesign, so I’m closing this as completed.

copy & paste
Copy & paste the same artboard style (with exactly the same items on it) to another artboard. Also copy & paste the same item with the same position to another artboard (cmd + alt + shift + v) as in InDesign.
1 voteIf you select an artboard, copy and paste it, another artboard will be created with all the same contents.
If you copy an item from one artboard and copy it to another, the location of the item should match where it was copied from.
This is in our current update of XD as of this writing.

Import Photoshop files in XD projects
Ability to import PSDs into XD projects. Right now we have to Open the PSD, then copy the assets from that new project into the XD project we're working on. It would be a major improvement in workflow if we could simply use the Import feature which is currently limited to JPGs, PNGs, GIFs and SVGs.
This would remove the 2 extra steps of 1) exporting the PSD into a PNG and 2) copying assets from opened PSD into current project.
1 voteYou can now import PSDs into XD files by using Import… If you have any additional feedback, please feel free to file a new ticket!

Create mask from default container
I think it would be a great improvement if the current 'mask with shape' feature also worked by using the default container of an image:
- Select image
- Shift + CMD + M
- Image is now masked within it's default container that you can edit
Thanks!
1 voteNote from Randy:
Starting with XD 9, images are already masked with a shape! No need to execute any command.
The shape is a Rectangle with same width and height as image. Double-click in the middle to edit size and position of image fill.
Double-click on border to convert rectangle to a path.

XD Character Style/Colors Swatch Hit Area too small (Assets Panel Grid View)
Currently you have to select the Colur icon/block or Ag style icon to apply character or Colour style, if you click anywhere else in the character style block it does not apply!!!
The more intuitive and i think previous versions had this, is to make the entire character style capsule clickable. I run a 5k screen setup so the icons are pretty small.2 votes -
Disable navigation on footer
Hi Guys,
is it possible to deactivate/disable the page-navigation on the Footer from prototype? Clients use this usually as Slide and don't understand the main fonction of XD
1 voteWhen you publish, you can now choose whether or not to show the navigation controls.

Global color swatches across the application
Introduce a feature to Swatches, where you can access all your colours that you've saved in other projects and be able to view them in all projects, similar to Photoshop
1 voteYou can access global colors across documents by publishing a design system through CC Libraries. Hope that helps!

Increase the hit area in the asset panel when in list view
The hit area of an asset is limited to the icon in list view. which is very counter-intuitive please increase the hit area. and I don't think there will be any harm in doing so.
1 voteWe changed this recently so that you can now click anywhere in the list item, not just the icon.

Ability to label assets within XD
It would be helpful if you were able to label the assets (symbols, colors, fonts) like you can in the Library panel so that you can easily tell which asset is for which feature in your project. For example, the ability to label a font choice as "Header" or "Subtext".
2 votesAvailable in XD 10.
