Larger hit area on close button for Libraries pop up
It seems clickable area is set to the exact size of closing icon? Could you make it a bit bigger?

Allow 3D Transformations in States
Please allow to use different 3d Transformations between the States so you can use 3d Transform as a hover effect or something else.
Currently the 3D Transform Options adapt to all States when you change it on the component.

import psd as image
It would be a great time saver to be able to drag psd files into XD documents for using them as images without needing to save em as jpg or png first.

Make shortcut hotkeys for text align (left, center, right)
There should be keyboard hotkey shortcuts to quickly edit the text alignment.
SHIFT+ OPTION + L (Used to pull up my CC Library.. not as important.)
SHIFT+ OPTION + R (Used to reload my plugins... not as important )
SHIFT+ OPTION + C (NOT IN USE... maybe use this shortcut and have the 3 options cycle each time you hit it, left, center, right.)19 votes -
Auto-Focus and Pre-Clear Asset Search
I frequently toggle between the layers and assets panel. I find it frustrating that my previous search is still present when I toggle back to the assets panel. Right now, I have to move my cursor over to the search bar, clear it, and type my new search (I almost always rely on search to find an asset rather than scrolling through the list).
I would like for the search to reset when the assets panel is reopened, and for the search bar to be auto-focused when I open the assets panel. This way, every time I open the panel…

Component variants (parent-child, inheritance)
While Adobe XD Team has certainly done an amazing work toward design systems creation in the tool, it still lack a bit of power.
Actually, it's quite tedious to create, maintain and use a design system in XD. Especially when working with multiple variants of a component.
Let's say I need too work on an app design and I want create my buttons in my design system : primary, secondary, alert, w/icon, large, small...
With the current XD, I only have 2 solutions and both have are really time consuming to maintain :
I need to create a separate component…

Selecting a nested group using direct select
When you hover over a group and see the blue highlight, you should be allowed to click and select that group. This will make selecting things SO much easier!!
Thanks
1 voteThe team recognizes that there’s a gap here, so I’m leaving this open. And yes, I was referring to the “Esc” key on your keyboard. Hope that helps!

Correct the dimensions to 1x when pasting a retina screenshot
When pasting from a mac screenshot the retina image is x2 the actual size. This means every time you paste in a screenshot you have to divide the width by 2 to get the correct dimensions. Can you detect a retina asset when pasting and compensate? If you use this pattern all the time it is a drag.

Add colors directly to asset panel
Colors. Why can't I add them straight up? I know all the colours i need to use? Why can't i just create them? Why do i need put something on an art board first? I am doing something wrong?
The asset management is strange. Figma does it better. Copy them.

Hold keyboard shortcut to disable swap component
When I am trying to build nested components-- in order to prevent it from swapping, I have to click into the component in order to drag another component from the assets panel. I would like the ability to hold a modifier key to prevent this from happening. It would save time and clicks.

"Reset to Main State" all the instances of one component present in the document in one click
Have the possibility to "Reset to Main State" all the instances of one component present in the document in one click.
I'm working on a file with 60+ artboards, with lots of components and subcomponents. Sometimes the instances of my components don't update automatically when I edit the main state, so I have to do it manually for each one of them.

Selecting the artboard in layers panel when it's already selected should not zoom to fit
PROBLEM:
Sometimes my artboard collapses out of nowhere so I have to double click the artboard name to open it back up to see the layers again. But when I do that, XD zooms me out to see the entire artboard. So I have to zoom back in to find the section I was working on again.SOLUTION:
If the artboard you're opening is the one that's already in view, don't perform any zooming actions. (I understand that this feature is to help you find artboards when you need to, but it doesn't help when you're already on it)2 votes -
Link multiple flows together with annotations (scenes)
Freely move all selected elements + artboards within a work area inside the XD file work space.
Maybe group them as "Scenes" of artboards with other elements like descriptions, step sequence, title ++ that is not part of any artboards. This way you can explain the prototype within the XD file while also making it clickable as a prototype through all the artboards that is part of this "Scene" and may transition into other "Scenes" within the same XD-file.Attached screenshot is one working area containing several artboards within the same XD file. In the XD file there is also…

Prevent editing on some artboarts in a shared cloud file.
When I'm working with my team I would like to lock some artboards in a collaboration file. This way I can guarantee that those artboards will stay unchanged but my colleagues can still see my progress and copy elements.

Select same for group to merge to component
In certain apps such as VS Code, you can select a specific string, then press Ctrl+D, I think, and each time you press that shortcut the selection 'expands' to include one more of the potentially multiple instances of that specific string into a highlighted, select-state. You can keep pressing until all instances are selected, it tends to expand starting with the nearest, working outwards from that point in the document, to eventually include all insances.
Typically, then people would use the multi-cursor feature to replace the multiple selections of the same string with another string, or paste one from the…

The ability to turn a Flow into a Component
We often have to design complicated components and in the end find out that we are unable to accomplish what we set up to accomplish without having to create multiple art boards. However, if we can take a collection of art boards, or a certain Flow, and turn that into a component, that'll be amazing!
Editing the Flow would update the component.
Art boards have the big advantage of seeing all your states together which will speed up the build. In the current implementation we have to click through all the states to see if they have updated correctly and…

Cycle through tagged artboards
When designing a feature, it is many times necessary to jump around the canvas from one art board to another. Many times those boards are physically far away in the canvas, requiring tedious zooming up and down to locate and view them.
Now, it would be really nice if one could leave placeholder tags around the canvas in those places that are relevant for the feature you are now working on. Then, using some kb command (like Alt + Q, like in Quick), you could cycle the current view between those canvas places, keeping the same zoom level.
Alt +…

Lock / make layout grid static
Ability to make the Grid static or un-responsive so it doesn't move and change parameters when I resise the artboard.
I have to recalculate the grid all the time and it's a hassle. Other competitor apps already have this and it's a huge timesaver for designers and developers.

Rename padding tool to margin tool
The new padding tool is great EXCEPT that it is behaving like a margin tool - not a padding tool.
As it is currently, when resizing a group of objects, altering the padding (free or uniform) expands/contracts the parent container, when the parent container should maintain it's size and the objects inside the parent container should move within the parent.
Expanding/contracting the size of the external container - is how you increase/decrease margins.
I suspect that at least one of your developers probably mentioned this somewhere along the way because this is web development 101...
Seriously, though - please fix…
