Allow component instance overrides to be inherited by all states
Currently (XD 24.0.22.19), if I drop an instance of a component and then adjust part of it (text in a button, size of the instance, etc.), that override is only applied to the selected state of the instance. So, if I have a button with many states (normal, hover, disabled, active, default action, etc.) I have to manually apply that override to each state of the instance. This is extremely tedious and error prone.
Please provide the ability to have an override of an instance be inherited by all states in that component instance.

not having this feature is a time and flow killer 🤬

Yes, please, makes use of any component states basically worthless

This is a must have feature. This issue causes many prototype mistakes and a major waste of time.

C'mon Adobe. Do you really need two years to implement a must have feature?

Fix this please

YES!
This behaviour absolutely needs to change, right now components are pretty useless as a result.
If you resize the DEFAULT state, those changes should propagate to the child states. If you resize the child states, they should be unique. I cannot believe it was designed this way.

So desperately need this. Working with buttons is a NIGHTMARE. So many times I forget (there are hundreds of buttons) so when the user hovers the button text changes back to "Button" which is just embarrassing. Clearly this functionality is possible since it's how it works when editing the Main component. IMO it should default to override the properties of the other states (current functionality for main components), and if you want to edit properties within the individual states (current functionality for component instances) you can do so in those specific states.

This is the single most frustrating hickup of Xd when it comes to working with any sort of component library. Small projects that don't rely on a design system? Sure, you might go with Xd. Larger projects that rely on a common set of base components? Go with Figma.

Let's get some more votes on this. I know designers and developers love dark mode anything, but I would argue that this is so much more needed and should be higher up this list.

13 versions later (Adobe XD 37.1.32.2) and still no fix. Unbelievable. This BUG is so time consuming. The whole feature is useless. I'm switching to Figma.
What's the real reason of not fixing this bug?

This would be an absolute time saver. I think XD is great, especially if you have experience using other Adobe products, but it's still missing one or two key features which would set it apart from the competition.

Adobe, I'm sobbing. I've lost SO MANY hours to this problem. It's exhausting, it's infuriating, and it's been a standing complaint for more than a year. PLEASE fix this. I'm begging you.

Just started using XD a few days ago and I am hitting this issue, so it's not an extremely niche or advanced audience that's going to need this fixed/improved. And since I've not invested a huge amount of time in XD - it's fairly easy to switch to Figma or something else.

OMG this is ridiculous. in light of Figma's new variant and animation this feels stupid especially when it's under review with even high votes

ANIMATED DASH PATTERNS had 22 votes. This feature request has 752! What is the point of voting?

I cannot believe they built ANIMATED DASH PATTERNS but not this crucial feature. I am so sick of replacing text across all button instances.

It has taken a year and a half since first mentioned and this is still under review? There is zero logic in the behaviour of instance right now where we need to change each and every state over and over... I am trully regretting the time I have been spending in XD to do menial tasks like this.

Yes this is very needed. Thanks Nate for pointing it out 👍
