Background color on fullscreen prototype should be the same color as artboard color
When you view the prototype in the background color is white on the page that surrounds the layout, but if you click the fullscreen icon top right the same backgound becomes black, this also removes the text navigation links under the layout.
Why is this? And why doesn't the background fill the screen dynamically with the background of my web layout? It looks very strange when my 1024x768px gets a bordered frame around it instead of just getting a full background that occupies the screen, just like I would when making the same layout in Dreamweaver. When I preview layouts in the latter app it doesn't introduce a framed border around it.
Guess this was two questions in one but it relates do each other I think.

Same here. I was looking to create a simple presentation with the normal background filled at 1920 x 1080, but when I opened the link on a larger screen, there's white space around the right, bottom, and left sides.

Same issue here, had hoped i would find a way to solve this

I agree. The black background color creates problems in several different scenarios. It should probably default to the same color as the artboard, but also be customizable.

Mystery question. How many votes does it take for Adobe to care?

Yet another obvious feature that will sit in the decade long backlog :/

Argh so annoying - please can the prototype background colour be matched to that of the design. Would be so helpful and make prototypes look SO much better!

Got same issue here. What could the workaround be?

Newsflash: Nobody at Adobe cares.

Same when scrolling on a phone: the default black background when you have this elastic motion at the end of scrolling is pretty annoying.
It would be so sweet to be able to customize it to be the same color, pattern, or gradient, as the background in the created app. -

1. As a user I want to be able to preview an interactive prototype as like previewing it on a mobile phone or on desktop with or with out the scrollbar. Scrollbar is shown over a fixed element.
2. Able to change cursor type for interactive preview. Sometimes we are designing for desktop than just mobile prototypes.
3. When scrolling, the art-board color should determine the over scrolling color (up and down) than just always being black.

I need this too... I am often creating interfaces with light and dark themes these days, and when viewing my prototype and switching to the dark theme the background color being so light is quite jarring.

Needed! In XD on PC and iPad prototype is using the correct background color. But not in webview.
Why not? Really ugly. -

I am also having this issue!

OMG, please! Getting into XD, decide to preview on my phone, and yeah... the scroll area when it bounces is BLACK. Demo killer. Was going to present today's work to new SVP boss tomorrow, but this shaves off the slickness effect I was aiming for :-(

Yeah, it makes complete sense that it's the same as the artboard background color - otherwise what's the point of setting it, right?
Right now it's treated as if I've added a colored rectangle as a "background"

I have many artboards across different projects using a custom color as the background of the artboard.
When I preview on an iPad and scroll down until the "bounce" effect shows, it reveals a black background. This is a complete immersion killer when testing with clients.

totally - fullscreen really needs to be FULL ... the border looks bad and is a real problem to explain to clients, etc

I agree with this. Now I have to add a black rectangle in the background and lock it to get the effect of the background color on scroll.
