Just found this, sorry but disagree with Randy. What I think we want is for hue values to animate during the transition. This would be very different then just fading in one color on top of another.
At at the very least, "popping" into the next color kinda looks bad, as it is. Fading would be minimal. Awesome feature, but this could be the "killer" feature for XD if you guys see it through all the way.
Probably also need to select which "model" to use, maybe? Because, really, I'd want a hue shift in the HSV model, which probably looks different then animating RGB values from one set to another.

Yeah, this is a total joke that it only exports at @1x. This almost completely negates this feature for me. I have to go in, run the @#$%Y@!#$% scale comp script, then run it again on every individual nested comp after that. Gimmie a break. The more I use XD for real work, the more it just feels like another assemblage of marketing department bullet points, but without the follow through on real UX and features that matter everyday to a designer.

Sorry for the false alarm! Someone pointed out to me that I interpreted the request incorrectly. While you can now select objects both in the artboard and on the pasteboard, you cannot yet select objects on the pasteboard and complete artboards themselves.

I’ve updated the title to reflect your request. Please note that the current maximum is actually 5s, and you can type the number directly into the interaction popup.

OMG please please please, I can't stand arbitrary limitations. I've created a self running demo of timed sequences, and this 5s limit drove me nuts, but just lived with it. But, now that I'm timing stuff out in After Effects, it's even worse - I have to now time-remap all kids of stuff and it's now a mess..
Make it longer, PLEASE! I see no reason to just limit it to 5s. Sure, the pop-up values make sense, but limiting the manual entry, and forcing it to 5s, no.

We think you’re going to really, really dig the plugin integrations we’re making available later this year :)

I already voted for this, but now that I'm trying to do a "scale up" auto-animate transition for a dialog... I can't believe I can't do something this basic. I'm at a total loss what to do, too. Like... how to simply... scale something? <facepalm>

I'm attempting to do this now, to simulate voice dictation (i.e. word by word). Head scratcher. If this was built in, it would be amazeballs.
Which leads me to... I think I might have to try out this AE export thing. Auto-animate is great, but there's just too many things that AE is still better at in terms of creating a stand alone demo movie.

Reopening the feature request, based on feedback.

Maybe a good interim solution is just support Lottie? But, ideal would be some kind of link to AE project comps, maybe with the same Bodymovin/JSON restrictions, with export to Lottie. Something simple for now (cause we're desperate), with something mind-blowing later.
GIFs worked horribly in Invision, and failed to load/play with speed, so maybe that's not the way to go.

Yes, this is almost a no-brainer. Can't believe 1.5 years on, this is still not an option. The "Preferences..." menu item is embarrassingly grayed out.
Luckily, I found, I can at least capture on my iPhone itself, without these dumb dots. The intention is to animate whole UI journeys, and put them in a AE project, output to video as an internal corporate pitch. Best case would have been just capture on my computer. But, alas, all these hoops to jump through because of one missing checkbox option! Please, Adobe designers, please... cheers!

This is something we’re currently investigating. Stay tuned!

This is not a "nice to have" feature, this is an absolute requirement. I mean, how embarrassing was it that I whipped out my phone to show a design animation to a superior, and what did I see... A Missing Fonts dialogue! On top of that, how am I supposed to do any user testing? Tethering to a laptop is NO GOOD in a user testing environment.
This really is "stick your head in the sand" stuff, here. Come on, Adobe!

OMG, please! Getting into XD, decide to preview on my phone, and yeah... the scroll area when it bounces is BLACK. Demo killer. Was going to present today's work to new SVP boss tomorrow, but this shaves off the slickness effect I was aiming for :-(

> For now, this effect can be achieved in XD using layers and changing opacity value.
Okay, after using XD intensively for a few weeks, creating a "self running" app demo... I can honestly say using layers is a huge PITA. The color should just transition. PLEASE. This is utterly painful, and so so obviously logical.
