Export Text
Highlight a Page and export all TEXT BLOCKS as text files for developers to import into CMS.
Hi Ruth,
I understand what you are saying and thank you for the explanation.
Cheers,
M.

Please simply add a "copy raw text" function in the edit menu, which will copy raw text from all selected elements (ignoring those that don't contain text)
This is a fundamental feature that is sorely lacking Adobe. Please listed to the users of your programs.

Please provide an update on this feature request

I would like it a lot if txt would be an exportable format just like SVG and PNG. This would give users good control over which sections of text they want.
Export options that generate structured file formats like json or xml according to the document structure, could be a way to allow for reimport. -

I agree with this, this would be so helpful for passing assets onto developers. So far this bottlenecks our process because our developers have to copy-paste from the prototype or get into the xd file. It would be wonderful for developers to just have the txt file.
It would also be helpful for text to have links (like in-copy) so that editors on larger teams could edit the text without the design re-introducing error.

It would be useful for translators to be able to export the text from all text blocks to Word and then import the translation back into XD

Does anyone know if this is likely to become a feature anytime soon?

It would be really helpful if I could export the text from the file, manipulate and import back in.

It'd be great if the exported text can be imported after some manipulation. For example, you'd create a marketing asset in English, export all text, get it translated, and import. Voila! Your 're ready for the global market.

Being able to extract all text modules as separate, text only file would be super helpful.

PDF export for extracting test is a good start. It would be helpful also if you could select text from the HTML canvas and copy to clipboard when you're viewing the web-shared version.

Hi Mihnea, I voted for this idea because it would be very helpful for designers who work in tandem with a developer. I think the initial problem was that the PDFs exported text as vector outlines which made it useless (i.e. unable to copy-paste). However in the latest version I noticed that it is selectable text now. Half of the problem is already solved.
It would still be easier for developers to copy-paste text out of a plaintext file (.txt) instead of a PDF, however, and I think this is the more accepted way to do web development work. Ideally XD would have a menu option like "export selected text" or "export all text" which would dump all the text in the entire .xd file into a .txt file.

This would be a useful feature for content writers, too. It would allow us to make text edits within XD and immediately export them, rather than updating and maintaining multiple Word documents.

When exporting a PDF or SVG of an art board the text export is completely useless, as it either doesn't export the text or it makes it into individual separate vector letters which is no help for developers. Please either get the text to keep it's original copy and pasteable format or offer a text export option as this request says please.
