Ability to hide objects
Would be nice if objects could be temporarily hidden.
Similar to illustrator.
cmd+3 hides an object
cmd+alt+3 unhides an object.
That would make selecting other surrounding objects an easy task.
It also works nicely if the user wants to focus on a specific area without being distracted by other elements
Hi, all-
We’ve introduced the ability to hide objects with the Layers panel in our November release. However, we understand that some of you want more advanced control for hiding and showing objects. Given that there are a number of different potential directions we could take this, we’d love to hear your thoughts in new ideas in UserVoice. I’m closing this idea as completed for now.
Thanks,
-Elaine

I am just representing my thought-
Include hide/unhide feature for full artboard same like photoshop have.

A keyboard shortcut to unhide last would be great. You have Cmd-; to hide an object. If you just added Cmd-Alt-; to unhide the last object that was hidden, you wouldn't have to hunt for it in the layers list.

Please understand that my vote is for hiding elements as in Illustrator, NOT using "Layers" palette.

So, I just discovered the command-; shortcut for hiding elements, but there seems to be no Show All command? So the only way to un-hide the element is to select it from the Elements (Layers) Panel? Is that correct? If so, please add that, a la Illustrator.

Selecting elements in the "Layers" panel is a nightmare if you have more than 30 elements on an artboard. And since the "Layers" panel is useless across artboards, this is even more difficult.

Agree with "Boti". Layers are needed however kidding layers will not allow me to hide individual elements (via shortcuts) to work with items below the hidden item. They may both be on the same layer.

Agree, or bring in the layer idea from illustrator, which support show/hide, i'd like to have a layer just for annotations, it's useful for communications.

Like in illustrator i wish to show/hide objects with shortcuts.
cmd+3 for hide and cmd+alt+3 to show all hidden objects.
