Workflows for Illustrator and Photoshop users: create artwork in PS/AI, import into XD, add interaction in XD
I think most of us in the industry already use AI and/or PS as our primary design tool. It would have been awesome if XD was a tool that focused on simply adding interactivity to artwork that was imported from AI or PS. AI and PS already have all the editing capabilities... why do you want to add them again in XD. It seems like the goal was to create an answer to Sketch, rather than enabling existing Adobe users to rapidly create interactive prototypes. Adobe's core strength is in AI and PS... and you could have hit it out of the park by simply giving us a way to add the interactivity.
That said, I love the ability to record and share with stakeholders. That is very cool. But I can't really use the good stuff until there is tight integration with AI or PS. Please please reconsider your vision for this product.
You can now import both Illustrator and Photoshop documents to add animations to them.

I'm living in 2018 and I don't understand why you didn't complete this feature yet.

I've been working with most of the UX softwares out there and was waiting for Adobe XD as a finally the answer. What a disappointment when I saw that, once again, Adobe had redone software they already had. Editing vectors? Really? Not being able to import my layouts from Illustrator? Really? Not being able to implement neither motion nor gesture? Really?
Beside linking screens in a predefined scenario, I don't really know what you're trying to achieve? But XD does not answer any UX needs nor requirements... Who were your stakeholders/User research/User tests???? -

I agree this should be a layout tool - not image editor - keep the bloat down and keep it focused on a web/css toolkit - however basic vector design tools are available in many adobe design apps and will be useful in XD as long as you don't overdo it and they play nice with illustrator for complex editing.

Re-inventing the wheel and showing off new vector creation tools seems quite redundant when CC already has at least 3 vector engines.
Wouldn't it be a lot quicker and more robust to seamlessly integrate with the Photoshop / Illustrator workflow that UI / UX designers are already using ? [ i.e: I couldn't believe when I couldn't open / import a layered psd design ].
This could be a really game changing tool if Adobe gets it right - don't bloatware this one !

Thanks for the feedback. There are a couple of specific requests that you can weigh in on regarding PS and AI integration. Vote on it there as it helps us to prioritize these requests individually as we decide what to work on and what use cases to support.
