I'm not sure why I have to mention all this stuff. Adobe post so many articles how to do UI design right in their XD blog, but can't do it right themselves. Also I'll probably file a feature request to turn notifications off - also the great UI feature.

I'm used to switch light/dark interface in Photoshop or Illustrator depending on what I am doing. If I'm doing something for print (especially if it's meant to be on white paper) I'll use light theme. If I'm doing something for game or mobile device I'll use dark theme.
It's very simple: printed materials are usually viewed in good light conditions with lot's of light on the background (real world background), games and mobile apps are usually viewed on a screen with black borders and often at night or just poor lights (because screens emit their own light).

Adobe XD team, please, try for yourself to design a great dark mode interface in Adobe XD.

You probably know how we humans perceive contrast. Like it feels different when dark object is surrounded by dark or light background.

I have to turn my PC's brightness down to not be blinded by light interface of XD, but at the same time I barely can read the light grey text on dark grey background. But if I make it pure white and black, it will hurt my (and I guess everyone's) eyes on a phone, where the brightness is not turned down. You know, every manufacturer is giving night/dark modes to their phones.

It's a pity people working on a product aimed to help UI/UX designers don't use their own product or are actually not very good in UI/UX design themselves. All other Adobe products not only have light/dark themes but even different gradations. All other prototyping software have dark mode (like Sketch and Invision Studio). Options are always welcome.
