This is a reason we're using Balsamiq Cloud for twice-a-year collaborative design events involving non-designers instead of the wireframing features of XD. Browser-based editing makes the setup time appropriate for such an infrequent event.

Then, once it's already in Balsamiq Cloud, it's easier to stick to it for further wireframing and rapid prototyping than covert to XD. Then, it becomes easier to implement the design, so lost market opportunity for XD.

The lack of this feature is one of the reasons Balsamiq is still used heavily at my company. The built-in assets makes it easier for non-designer participants to get set up for design events that only take up at most 4 days of their year. Because they only need to design 4 days a year, the ease of use for a design tool has to be amazing for them to use at these events.

    Hi,

I would like to understand more about your workflow. What are you trying to achieve and what prevents you doing with the latest XD version?

    Cheers,
    M.

Balsamic Cloud can export PDF, so this would let us transition from a low-fi, easy-to-learn tool with built-in, common UI interface elements to the higher-fi step of the design process.

We use Balsamic Cloud for collaborative design events. These events include people who don't design full-time and don't know how to use richer tools like XD and Axure. They don't have the time either to learn these tools, and my company is not going to pay a full license for each participant when they'd only use it for about 4 days a year.
