Please add rulers. It's a must-have.

This would be handy. Particularly if it could be positionned where needed like in Photoshop.

Also miss this feature. Especially to align elements between artboards.

Global rulers are really necessary because it gets difficult to work on two artboards at the same time. Unless you create a duplicate copy of the Artboard, you cant see rulers at the same position on the next artboard. There is literally no way to do it!

Please add global rulers also do XD. The artboard ruler is a nice to have, but often I also need global rulers. Also, I have alsways to zoom out or scroll to the top of the artboard to get a ruler and scroll back all the way down. This could be solves with a standard ruler on to the top and left of the the entire working platform and use a keyboard short cut to decide whether it is a global line or an artboard line. Right now it is very limiting and slowing down the performance!

A proper implementation of Rulers would provide us with proper Guides as well, the way Sketch and Figma do it. Creating Guides currently is such a pain.
How do you create a UI/UX tool without giving an option of a ruler to begin with? HOW? -

Every time I open this program I think to myself "Yay! Digital work instead of print today!"
And then I get EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED that this multi-billion dollar is run by incompetent project managers that ignore basic principles of the entire Adobe ecosystem. They should fire your entire XD department and give it to the seniors from Ai and Ps to fix this insulting mess of a program.

I don't like the current implementation of guides, because you may be zoomed in on a specific portion of the artboard and in order to drag a guide you have to zoom out or move to the top left edge of the board to start dragging. The source of the guides should be more global... like the rulers that have worked for years in all other adobe programs.

2020 and still no rulers or guides...
This is a 'design' tool, right? -

Came back to Adobe XD after a year or so, installed it again today...Hoping to see this. Pretty shocked. Though I did see a new feature about voice control...I mean, is the goal to literally kill the product?

Almost four years since this was raised and this is still not implemented - incredible.
The last official response was in 2016 from an Adobe software engineer who questioned the need/purpose of rulers and encouraged people to upvote a different feature (guides) which, as most designers will know, serve a useful but different purpose. Staggering that a company with such experience in design software needs to ask these questions when rulers and guides have been a staple of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign for over twenty years?
People in the comments talking rulers and guides as interchangeable terms/concepts isn't helping. What we currently have in XD is *guides* of various types, with the only truly user-controllable ones being at local Artboard level. These are fiddly and you can't even set their X/Y positions manually.

Please include rulers and guides.... to difficult to base align things and spacings without them.

It would be nice if the rulers were visible when working inside the artboard, somehow.
Currently we can drag rulers only if we have access to the artboard borders (left and top borders). It'd be nice if we didn't have to zoom out to be able to drag rulers. -

Rulers and guides serve different purposes. Rulers are so so useful when zoomed in on elements.
Guides are good for overall alignment on the page, but I don't want hundreds of guides for everything when rulers would serve what I need

To grap the rulers only from the top and left side of an artboard is very much restrictive. When I have a specific area zoomed in and want to grap a ruler, so its just not possible. I have to zoom out and grap it from the very top – imagine this on a 4000px height artboard! At least make it possible like in InDesign, when I grap a ruler from the left side of an artboard, then it should be possible to hit the "option" key to rotate the ruler from vertical to horizontal!
Another issue is deleting a ruler. There is no right click available. Again, I have to zoom out and then have to grap a ruler and throw it to the side! – come on Adobe, there are much better solutions; just inspire yourself from InDesign. 👍👍
