Add discussion feature to Design Spec
Developers and designers where I work would love to get a place on the new Design Specs feature where they would add comments against artboards or even an element on a page.
Maybe even code snippets and links to external systems to look at feedback from a client or user group.
With XD’s most recent update, Design Specs now has the same great commenting feature as prototypes. Developers can comment on specs and you’ll be notified. Any updates, changes, or replies you make will automatically show up when they refresh their browsers.
Thank you for upvoting feature here in Uservoice. Request you to please play around with this feature and as always keep the feedback coming.

What is the status of this? I see that commenting is now available in the design prototype. Discussions in the spec. mode are far more important to me.
P.S. Harish, I've sent you an e-mail to participate but I haven't received a reply..

Totally agree. Being able to add notes (or links e.g. to Trello cards) in the specification would be amazing.
Having the discussion in the prototype makes it difficult to identify updates to the discussion and means the devs need to navigate through the prototype to the specific screen before they can see if there are any comments.
Really looking forward to having notes/comments in the Specifications.

I am not good at English, so I am sorry if there is a strange expression.
It is very convenient to be able to comment on the design spec like Zeplin, because you can pinpoint minor corrections and questions.
Also, if there is a change in the comment,
I hope to be able to notify Slack as well. -

Me (designer) and my developers see great potential in this tool to bridge a gap. Although we see two major improvements that are essential:
Discuss: Add comments to artboards and elements for the ability to discuss UI, flow and e.g. to assign string tokens to texts or labels.
Download assets: having 1 place to look at the specs and to download the right assets would be a great win for my developers and of course make hand-off easier for me.
With some major tools out there which already support this, I think these "3 D's" ;-) are very much necessary.

Big +1. This feature has potential to breach the gap between designer and developer. This too would be helpful to comment on specific text or words to assign string tokens. As of right now my developers see the potential but also feel the need to have everything in one place:
- design specs
- discuss
- download assets -

+1 on this!
Not only comments from devs but also free text from the designers. Sometimes (even more so without micro-interactions yet) we need to give a simple explanation of how a particular element should work on each scenario, so a discussion would allow that kind of explanation to be with the prototype and specs.
