Full featured top menu for Windows 10
Get rid of the hamburger menu, and give windows users a full on top menu like in Photoshop or Illustrator. Hiding options behind an icon is a major pain. As a user of both Mac and Windows, I'd love for the program to be the same across both operating systems.
You can now access a fully featured top menu for Windows 10 in today’s release of XD! If you don’t see the update immediately, go to the Creative Cloud Desktop app, select the Update tab, the …, and “Check for updates.”

I have to hunt down all the damn shortcuts just to do things that would be in an object drop down or send to back. The hamburger menu is fine as a general menu but horrible for general work purposes.
VS Code, Microsoft product, UWP, TOP MENU.
I was really enjoying learning and using XD especially with library's because my whole team uses illustrator for art but this is so annoying. I am learning sketch now just because of you don't want to make your product like it is on the other platform (apple) where all the tutorials are and looks so easy with the menus.

UWP?... why not simply stick at basic UX principles? Consistency is without doubt one of the sacred ones: “Your users don’t spend all their time just with your product – the majority of their time is on other products, and all the while they are generating ideas and expectations from these other experiences”
For short... the “Principle of least astonishment” for your loyal Adobe users. This principle aims to leverage the pre-existing knowledge to minimize the learning curve, for instance by designing interfaces that borrow heavily from functionally similar or analogous programs with which your users are likely to be familiar. User expectations in this respect may be closely related to a particular COMPUTING PLATFORM or TRADITION.

it's really not a good decision to remove the menu that everyone got accustomed to for years!!

The lack of top navigation is totally ruining the user experience by putting options too deep in the burger menu. You should really consider this option !

It's so strange when ill-conceived and premature guidelines come before user needs.

UWP - or Poor experience? Apple users are getting all the benefits. I was looking for Object - Mask and could not find it. I am on a design course where the Apple users are laughing.

I know this has been brought up before but accessing items in the hamburger menu is really obnoxious in software like this. On Mac you have several different things on the top, but with Windows it is buried in a hamburger. Yes it is following UWP, but that feels more like consumption apps rather than professional applications. I'd like to see a happy medium that pushes the current design while still being touch friendly on Windows.

Relying on just a hamburger menu for so many functions is pretty poor UX - ironic for an application that helps designers create better ones...

maybe someone can create a plug in that will give a top menu version that we need... i really hope the other apps don't go this direction. When i first opened it, i thought it was a trial version or the menus weren't showing. I had to google where they were. I am considering changing to Sketch.

I had an opportunity to work with xD both on Mac and on Windows, and as an UX/UI designer, I'm wondering how come that the top bar is missing on Win?
Following the logic of Adobe programs, there should be a top bar by default, no matter what OS are you using - just look at Illustrator, Photoshop etc. This is not even a feature, it's a must!

That's fine, but for speed and efficiency while working on projects, the side nav, hiding behind the hamburger menu is not ideal.

With the introduction of Plugins, having this top navigation page will make accessing these SO MUCH EASILY. I often forget I have plugins or I'm often too lazy due to the effort that is taken to select a plugin.
Please make this happen!

Yes, saying that it's a UWP guideline not to add top menu-bar is somewhat extreme. VS Code (latest versions) being a product of Windows itself has a top menu-bar. Example can be seen here: https://forums.adobexdplatform.com/t/horizontal-menubar-for-windows-10-xd-app/431

We agree that to be future-proof, you guys are "crafting a purely UWP experience". As other comments have pointed out that UWP guidelines (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/uwp/design/controls-and-patterns/navigationview#display-modes) also propose a horizontal menu bar.
Saying that UWP removes top menu, I would like to point out that Microsoft for their own product VS Code itself employ a top menu-bar, which can be seen in https://forums.adobexdplatform.com/t/horizontal-menubar-for-windows-10-xd-app/431

In that case I'll be moving to a purely Adobe absent experience in my choice of tools! Maybe you can get Microsoft to buy your product!

I agree. I was extremely excited to use this program and am very disappointed... I really wish it had the full menu like Mac version and other Adobe products. Will you be updating it? If so when? I have taken 2 courses on learning this program just to realize Windows is different... Why is this? Please fix this. :((
