Collaboration on same document (real-time OR check-in / check-out model)
I would love to be able to work with my design team at the same time on the same file on different computers and instantly see changes made by someone else in realtime.
Currently, we use Google Drawings to create wireframes because it allows us all to work in the same file at the same time and to instantly see changes made.

I’m pleased to announce that we’ve introduced Coediting in its early form in XD 24. You can get more info on this beta feature on letsxd.com. If you have feedback for us, please do file them as separate tickets here on UserVoice!

Great job on implanting this feature. This is a make or break feature when it comes to efficiency, collaboration and creativity as a team. Especially remote teams. I worked with a remote team in 5 different time zones in a crunch-time situation using Adobe XD. Seven UX designers got together and split up two projects into seven pieces and we had one person act as version control by putting all the pieces back together using mathematics on a piece of paper. The next day we had two weeks worth of design and writing projects finished. When we presented our projects to an audience, the reaction of pure excitement and applause was incredible. As a team, we were shocked and amazed at what could be done together using a version control system. Real time collaboration would only make it that much better. Great job team Adobe XD.

The workspace canvas is too small to use this collaboration-feature. A project that is so large to work with different people on it never will find space on the actual canvas-size. So I wonder why Adobe accumulate so many effort to implement this instead of features which limit my creativity and design-work (no color-gradient on borders for example or this small-sized-canvas).

When multiple people are working on the same document and person A saves:
Person B has 2 choices:1) Accept Changes and lose all changes he's done.
2) Save his changes into a new document localy, creating an out of date version that won't be updated.
Suggestion:
When prompted to "Accepted Changes" or "Save Locally" can you make xd NOT lock out the user from copying stuff on the artboards?Let users migrate unsaved changed through copy paste clipboard when prompted to accept incoming changes and discard their own.

Hi XD
How is it going with the update on Live Collaboration. It would be super nice to have something just like Figma in the near future? Also a great need would be to be able to create pages with possibility to have different designs splitted up into sections.

Over the past few years, I have worked at some of the biggest agencies in the US on some of the most well known clients. Going from Photoshop/Sketch/XD to a collaborative tool like figma was an absolute GAME CHANGER. I dont use that term loosely. It sped up our workflow in ways I cant even describe. Things that took weeks to get done only took days or hours because of the collaborative nature. When you have multiple stakeholders who have to see the most recent file, (designers, copywriters, strategy, directors, account etc) It makes the most sense to use something like Figma in an agency environment. Im a HUGE Adobe fan and user, but XD has consistently fell short and my teams keep going back to Sketch or figma. Collaboration on the same document / Multiplayer or whatever you want to call it, IS the future of web-based design. It SHOULD be #1 on Adobe XD's list of features or they will continue to be years behind other programs like Figma, Sketch and Invision Studio.

How is this a "VERY early build" of this feature when you guys said this was a feature back in 2016?!?

I was willing to work around the many Adobe XD inconsistencies and limitations if I had a way to design with my coworkers at the same time, in the same manner that Keynote already does brilliantly.
This feature has been promised for a long time and should be the core of the product.

With Figma, you can design stuff together. Would be cool if you could add it here too.
Really cool if you have apprentices etc.

Would very much like to see real-time collaboration, version control and as a document owner to define edit permissions for those I share any document with. My team of designers are co-located and managing a single design system is not bullet-proof right now.

I know the Figma is doing this. They call it "Multiplayer editing" - (Edit alongside your coworkers and see exactly what they are doing inside the file. Access controls let you decide when to enable multiplayer and when to fly solo) See it in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1ZN1mI2rZg. It is amazing. Please, start this feature soon. Real-time collaboration is very important for every tasks for teams.

I would find this really useful. Not even as detailed as what elements/components people are moving around real time but even what canvas board they have selected or a list of who's in the file at any given time.

Since Adobe won't give us any update on this, I started a conversation in Twitter with some of the people who appeared in showcases presenting this particullar feature. You can read the whole conversation here: https://twitter.com/federomanoarg/status/1011321341855887360 and get an idea of the feature's status.

Can we get an update on this? It's been showcased a few different times so we know it's in progress at least :/

I'm using Figma presently even though I also have XD. Figma seems to have much tighter interaction with its user community and a more alive feel. Seems nobody from Adobe is interacting with the messages here. If you need a consultant to design this feature? Email me. I'm available and have experience in this field.

I've both read articles and seen videos where Adobe is talking warmly about the value of team collaboration with XD, think I first heard Adobe mention this three years ago in terms of XD, but still we are not able to really collaborate on anything as that is down right risky business cause you risk loosing all your work! There are no synchronized collaboration support like you have in for instance Figma. Whenever two people are working on a shared XD files at the same time one of the files open are going to be overwritten by the edits made by the other designer AND one of the designers is going to get his or her contribution deleted! I've experienced this over and over again until I asked everyone in my team to stop using XD for any collaboration as we are loosing data. It is just way too risky. The point in live collaboration is that you can be safe with the individual contributions and that it doesn't get overwritten by another contributor working at the same document at the same time! Hello Adobe? What are you think? Why do you release such an unfinished feature when you KNOW that people collaborating live is going to get data loss?! You must remove that until its safe to use with full support for live collaboration.
