Fade Mask ala Facebook Live Comments (Gradient Mask)
I would like to see a gradient/fade mask feature, similar to how comments were being masked on Facebook Live and other live streaming apps.

Would it be possible to change the title? I'm sure this topic would get more attention if the title wouldn't be a bit misleading. I would suggest something like "Transparent gradient mask (likewise Photoshop)". But nothing like Facebook in the title. I don't even know what Facebook Live Comments are … -

At the moment it's just possible to simulate a gradient mask with i.e. a rectangle and a linear gradient with the same color as the background. But this circumvents some more complex designs and prototypes. So we need a real gradient mask with alpha.

Gradient Masks give us the ability to fade off scrolling objects without having them run underneath actual objects. We are developing a TV UI and already have a few gradients creating light effects.
We need the Scrolling block of "cards" to scroll off into a vanishing point and can't put a block on top of them to obscure - in this case we really need a mask.
