Allow multiple people to share a link to the same published URL (multiple owners of a Prototype or Design Spec)
Collaborative work: Updating 'share link' of an .xd file not possible on another machine
System: macOS Sierra 10.12.6
XD-Version: 0.8.22.17 Beta
We are working with different people on the same .xd file. Updating the prototype link is only possible on the machine with wich the .xd file was created. The other people can only create new links.
- Create an .xd file
- Publish prototype
- Save the .xd file
- Open the same .xd file on another machine
- Updating the published prototype link not possible (only creation of new link)
We announced CC Spaces in XD today at Adobe MAX! In a space, all members will be able to publish a link. More details to come!

+1 this is required for proper collaboration! thanks :)

we absolutely need this feature. updating the links may not always depend on one person.

The lack of this feature becomes a significant hindrance to our team which shares master files and will have multiple collaborators. Users who have been given the ability to edit an XD file should be able to create and update links. Please make this change ASAP! Thank you!

We badly need this important feature; this affects our team productivity to wait for the other person to update the link every time we have some quick changes.

I'm amazed that Adobe thought initially that collaborative work was not essential when they designed the XD application. This is the biggest failure since Flash.
Give us a date, when will Adobe Spaces be available?? Please we're begging you!

This issue needs to be solved URGENTLY!! It’s very disappointing to have a collaborative tool that is not really collaborative. What happens if a designer is on leave? How is the teams suppose to continue working? Major fail!!
Can Adobe give us an estimation of when this feature would be available? I am already considering switching the whole team to other design/prototyping tools.

It's really a hassle working in a team and there's only one person that can update the project. Hope you can give authorities to other user as well by right clicking their names. So more than one people are authorized to publish the design. Thanks.

For the record, as with nearly every feature I have requested or voted on in this forum, you can already do this in Figma.

We need this feature! Very annoying just to have 1 person to share a link

Hi Good Evening,
I have facing some problem while updating the link.
I am collaborator not an owner of the file. So, I have to ask my colleague every time for update the link because he is owner of that file.
Can we give an option for owner to give permissions - Iike allow/don't allow permission for update the link.

Wow, 4 years of silence on this – This clearly, and obviously should have been implemented from day 1 of being able to 'share' a file. So many phone calls and texts to people at all hours of the day and night to get the 'owner' to update a file, or turn on the dev specs... Pretty unbelievable.

Is there any update on this feature? It would be ideal so that work doesn't bottleneck.

We need to be able to have multiple members have access to publish a share link. I went on leave last week and I had created the cloud document that my team and I have been working on. They had to save out 3 different versions of the xd doc in order to produce a share link to send to the marketers for review. This gets really messy.
This needs to be a priority. I have been loving the collaboration and I was shocked to find out this couldn't be updated by other team members. A bit of a let down. -

I am here to add my vote to shared co-creation to updating the prototype link.

This NEEDS to be solved URGENTLY. It's a terrible failure!! Why have a collaborative tool if it isn't collaborative at all?

This needs to be an ASAP priority or you're going to lose any one who's running a team to Figma.
I've recently switched my design team over from sketch to XD and we love how fast XD is. BUT - this issue and other strange cloud document problems, like teams not sharing the same document structure and a single source of truth has me looking at moving our whole team to Figma within just 3 months of moving to XD.
How adobe ever thought this was the right move for teams is beyond me.
Furthermore, it's frustrating to come here and see that this issue is 4 years old and with relative silence from the devs.
An aside - even if we can have multiple owners per document, that still requires my team to add everyone to every document they start. Ideally I need to be able to set (in the admin console) which team members have access to cloud documents my team create by default.
Please fix this messy, un-scalable nonsense that causes bottlenecks constantly.
Madness.

We have come across this problem ever since collaboration was introduced in XD. Every time a team member goes on holiday, we have to work across time zones, or work is temporarily handed on in the team, we need to create a new document with a new owner. I have been following this feature for quite a while and was hoping it would finally be announced at the next Adobe Max, so I am really sad to see it has been moving in and out of the backlog for 4 years. Can someone from Adobe maybe post an update to what's happened since February? Thank you!

PLEASE allow multiple owners in files. We have a team of three, all equal members of the design team and we work in different timezones. The whole idea of XD's cloud files is that multiple people can work in the same file at the same time, but how does it help when whomever created the original file has to get a message at 9:00 at night to update the prototype link because the other two team members don't have the "permissions".
Not allowing multiple owners in a file is antiquated and backwards thinking, especially when Adobe understands that for a year and a half many design teams are working from home and spread out all over the country.
This needs to become a priority fix.

This is not only a huge bottleneck for teamwork, but it also causes misunderstanding and confusion (people looking at the same prototype under different links). Please fix it ASAP!!

Please solve this. It is a big problem and an obstacle to teamwork.
