Snap to Grid
just like in Illustrator, Set grid, turn it on, any move using mouse or kbd keys will always snap the move to the created grid. very impt for UX design work.
If you have the artboard grid turned on, shift+arrow will now snap to the grid in that direction. Hope this helps!

Just bumping this thread to say... Yeah, there's still problems with this feature. Sure, I can snap things to whatever grid I want. But there doesn't seem to be a way to turn off the pixel grid built into XD. If I'm zoomed in and moving objects around, I have no choice but to adhere to the 1px snapping. If I want any other value in-between, I have to manually type it in.
It's ridiculous to assume people don't need to freely move objects around in XD without this limitation. People copy entire files over from Illustrator and need to be able to freely move objects around and snap them to other objects. As others have mentioned, this destroys XD's synergy with Illustrator and any other vector software, and wastes valuable time. For something as basic as an on/off checkbox, it's pretty questionable as to why this isn't already a feature.

Is this that difficult? I think snap to pixel on/off should look something like this:
snap to pixel on:
- user selects object at x: 456.78
- user drags item right. item snaps to x: 457, then 457.78, 458.78, 459.78, respectively.
** this is current workflow.snap to pixel off:
- user selects item at 456.78
- user drags item to the right. DON'T SNAP TO ANY VALUE?!
** not availableIt's weird that this is difficult to understand and that it doesn't do it by default. It seems like the snapping feature had to be designed and engineered?
My current workaround is to go and type in pixel fraction values into the property inspector (456.23 or 456.89). With all of the awesome speed features xd offers, this is a speed KILLER for design!!

Please have an option to turn this off. Right now I have to copy and paste my paths in illustrator to get them to line up. XD is just snapping to artboard pixel grid.

2nd the feedback that pixel snapping is preventing me from working at the level of precision I need.
Please, please, please, provide a way to disable this. -

Let's make sure that we're talking about the same thing.
When I say "snap to grid", I was referring to snapping to the Artboard Grid. You can turn off Artbord Grid (both view and snapping) using Ctrl+'. You can temporarily disable this snapping while viewing Artboard Grid by holding down the Shift key. I just verified that these work for me in XD 18.0.12.9.
I've seen in other posts people referring to "Align to Pixel Grid" as snapping to grid. Is that what you are referring to? Yes, by default, XD snaps everything to Pixel Grid. Note: there are some subtle exclusions such as scaling multiple selections. Sorry for the confusion.

Randy Edmonds (Admin) said "You can temporarily disable snapping while dragging/resizing by holding down the Cmd key on Mac or Ctrl key on Windows."
I found that holding the Ctrl key on Windows doesn't work, it still snaps.
I agree with othersthat it is essential to be able to toggle off snapping and otherwise align with snapping conventions in other Adobe apps. I also don't find it intuitive to find/manage the grid controls _but perhaps there isn't much to find.

I found a fault in XD with fontawesome... you can't kern or use sub or super on a character - & the snap grid doesn't allow you to layer letters on shapes like an M on a circle. Can you fix this please.

I cannot find anything about grids or guides, even through 'Help' in menu bar. I would look for these under 'View' as in Ai or Ps. I would like the option to toggle "snap to grid" on and off. It's really annoying not being in complete control of the elements when I need to be. Per guides, though not really on topic, it would be nice to have sliding rule guides as you have in Ai and Ps. I have to create a column grid in Ai and import it before I can begin a project. This should be an unnecessary step.

It's really hard to get pixel perfect layout with this issue, I'd love to have the ability to turn this weird snapping permanently.
Please consider this for next update, it's more important than any feature you've included in updates so far...

How do I turn off snap to pixel PERMANENTLY?! Yes I can disable it when I start a new document but I dont want to. I NEVER use it, how do I disable it FOREVER?!

I agree. I'd like to be able to a) select how many pixels it snaps to (including using the arrow keys - Shft should multiply that by a chosen factor e.g. 5 or 10) and b) I'd like to be able to turn snapping off for precise alignment. Holding down Cmd/Cntl key doesn't temporarily disable snapping for me.
In the interim, you can align elements precisely using the width/height and X/Y values if you use decimal placings (30.15 for instance). It's a hassle to get right, but it works. I've only used this for SVG, however. I'm not sure if this would effect the sharpness of other fomats???

This could all be solved with a switch to enable or disable snap. It is frustrating not being able to get things perfect. If I resize an object it's all smooth, if I try to move it, it snaps.
I'm loving XD so far, but there are still loose ends to tie before catching up with Sketch.
Cheers

I want "snap to grid" to be the same as Illustrator. when invoked/enabled, using the left/right/up/down kbd keys will always snap to grid.
yes, I know how to invoke "show grid" in XD but using the nav keys moves one pixel at a time. I have to manually select the object and move it. it looks like its snapping every 2 pixels. I have the grid set to 4px
