I'm magazine creative director for 20 years and now I'm venturing into UI/UX waters.

Since I am used to InDesign and its way of controlling and formatting, Adobe XD creates some problems for me.

In the pictured example, I have a Text area. Each text paragraph is formatted in its own style. Running head at the top, headline, subhead, and author. Each with its own formatting. Unfortunately, XD does not allow separate Line spacing formatting for each paragraph.

In the bottom part of the picture, I can achieve it by separating each paragraph into its own Point or Area text. Then I can format Line Spacing for each paragraph.

But this creates a problem. What if a headline is 2 or 3 lines long.

In the first example, if all of the paragraphs are in the same Area, longer headlines will push down the text below.

In the bottom part, if the headline is too long it will overlap the part below.

For me proper typography and formatting are essential.

Because keeping all these texts in one text area seems a much better solution, especially because it is easier to control the distances between paragraphs.
I think this is a valuable option because it will make alignment and spacing of paragraphs much easier. Just like in InDesign

Please add the ability to control the line-height/leading between individual paragraphs within the same text area.

Yes, yes, yes, yes. Anyone who has tried to style a bullet list in XD knows how badly this feature is needed. Please make line-spacing editable by individual line, rather than by the entire text box.

This feature is going to be so useful if implemented.

I welcome the ability to add differing colours, fonts and sizes simultaneously within one text area in the recent update (Jun 13th 2017) but I cannot use this feature as I can't lead the text differently within? This is not a finished feature basically. So my request is that independent text blocks need independent leading please.

This is something a "paragraph styles" feature would fix. Allowing you to set the spacing between paragraphs is one of things stopping me from using XD 100% in my workflow. It's annoying as all get-out.

I don't think this is important feature. On top of that when you give project to HTML markup they will ask you to redo everything as separate blocks of text. Because they won't be able to measure the line height between individual lines quickly.

If you want to increase gap between title and text or between paragraphs use different blocks of code. This is win-win.

Really important this. Just started using XD and mostly great apart from the lack of paragraph formatting within a single text area/box. Currently have to use individual text boxes and space in isolation. This is holding me back massively – it's fundamental to typographic design, whether digital or print.

Really need this as typography is limited to basics and therefore not suitable for high-end or luxury production environment where every pixel needs to be honed to perfection.

I created a text box and wrote down multiple hard return separated lines in it.

When I selected an individual line from the aforementioned lines and tried to adjust its line height, the line height change was applied to all the lines in the text box. Which is not the same case in, say, Photoshop.
