Both InDesign and Illustrator give users the option to choose what type of relative alignment we're trying to achieve. XD should be able to do this, as well. Sometimes I'm trying to create shape composed of two different shapes and I want them to align to each other, not the grid. It was also be nice if, like Illustrator and InDesign, you could select two object and then click again to highlight the object you are choosing to align to.

Why not just add the option to force exact pixel alignment in the options.

And while you are at it add a Preference panel... with options to customize and refine one's experience in this application to design experiences.

It's simple. Really

1) I love XD, it's awesome.
2) I hate XD, it makes me so mad.
3) It's not XD's fault but Adobe's poor implementation of certain basic aspects that's been in Ai for ages now.

JUST MAKE THE TRANSFORMATION & ALIGNMENT PROPERTIES WORK LIKE ILLUSTRATOR.

The BS misalignment/miscalling that throws all need to align things properly for a mobile where being pixel perfect is kind of a big deal.... out of the door.

Why Adobe?

I get that in Ai you can align things to the decimal but even then you can drag things and scale it to align to other objects perfectly. I have to manually adjust the transform numbers in the properties panel which is so archaic.

Come on Adobe, that is basically grade-school logic for you by now.

Yes, please add along with a more accurate spacing/distribution feature (i.e., plug in 10 px between objects, etc.). From a UX standpoint, why make XD so different than all other Adobe programs?

Is this feature still not available after 2 years since the request has been posted? I just started using XD and I find the lack of this feature annoying. The objects aligning randomly.

THIS PLEASE!!!!! Photoshop needs this too.

I would say, not just 'align to key object' but also 'align to artboard' and 'align to selection' would be very useful as well.

It would be great if we could use the align tools much more in line with Illustrator's current tool. Automatically keying objects to each other is really obtrusive and the moment.

I love how clean the interface for XD is, and I understand not cluttering it up, but this doesn't even need a button on the menu. Just the ability to select two objects, then click on one to make it the key object, like in Illustrator. Saves so much time and headache!
