Import Videos & Animated GIFs to show in interactive preview

Support to import a video or animated GIFs to simulate animations or even playable video.

Hello everyone! I’m excited to announce that in XD 45 (released today 10/26), you will be able to import MP4 video into your XD designs.

To ensure platform compatibility and performance across desktop, web and mobile preview, your video must be:

MP4
H.264
AAC audio
under 15 MB
4K or under resolution.

Enjoy and we can’t wait to see what you create!

XD does not support Animated GIF, so if you are still looking for that, please start a separate request and vote on it.

    I love how lightweight the XD app is, however, I am consistently asked to show video in my prototypes. Its because Powerpoint allows this so Account Managers expect to see it. Would be great so long as it doesn't bog down the program!

    Without audio/sound as well, XD is indeed fairly useless....

    Wait, you can't even import video? I was hoping export to AE meant you could then reimport the AE animation *data* for use in HTML5/CSS3 etc.... This would be game changing if it could be implemented. Please!! :D

    Yeah very much wanted, especially MOV and MP4 so we don't have to convert anything in order to import. I need this for background video support. Otherwise XD forces me to only offer my clients static photos as backgrounds. But this is 2018. Background videos are commonly used on homepages, etc.

    STILL not a feature!!? Poor show Adobe, I've adopted other software now, way too slow. Can't rely on you to develop this product quickly enough, your being left behind by some seriously good software from competitors.
