Drag in multiple directions
Would love to drag an object both directions. Perhaps if we could add hot spots to the left and right of a container, then you can either drag it left or right.
Example: in g-mail, drag the message right to delete, left to archive. Would like to render this behavior.
Thought two, add these touch points or hot spots to and image so I can drag left or right from the image itself to go forwards or backwards.

wish it was more like a keyframe timeline thing than to different artboards

I would appreciate it if dragging could be improved, similar to what is used in Framer X, and if we could specify the dragging direction, it would be great. Also, triggers need more of a variety, as in hover triggers, hold triggers (as in tap on something for a specified time) horizontal scrolling, etc. Also if the UI of Xd could receive a dark mode, it would be great.

Multi-directional drag overlaps another feature set: multiple triggers per artboard or object.
Currently there is no support for multiple triggers and destinations.
We want to be able to specify what happens when dragging in different directions. The way XD is currently set up, we can only transition to one destination.
Support for dragging in different directions seems to imply different destination artboards.
But another way to solve this problem might be to extend the area around the viewport 360°.
I.e., designate a Viewport Area (not just height) that exists inside the artboard and can be dragged within it.
Provide a default direction in the prototype navigation panel and allow the user to choose X axis, Y, both, or 360°.
This solution does not involve transitioning to a different destination. Instead, it resets the location of the viewport on the same artboard.
That's my two cents! However you choose to solve the problem, I hope we will have the feature soon.
Thank you!

I agree with the Adobe crew. It's essential.

The drag option in prototyping mode is not very practical if we can't choose the direction to drag in. I'm not just saying left, right, down, and up, but custom drag directions as well.

PLEASE, WE NEED DIRECTION FOT THE DRAG!

need to determine the direction of drag. it is more intuitive although it is only a prototype

To my dismay, just found out this isn't a feature yet as I have a dial that needs all 4 directions (like most other prototyping apps have). That's what I get for assuming. lol

I need to be able to drag a card both left or right with different outcomes. As of now this is not possible as invisible fields can't overlap. The top layer always rules :/

Are you kidding me? What about scrolling UP, it's not working anymore.

This can be accomplished pretty well with: https://helpx.adobe.com/no/xd/help/create-prototypes-using-auto-animate.html

XD will be a really awesome piece of UX tool if we can drag in any direction and assign how and where to transition. this is a must feature for the auto-animate drag gesture :D

yeah, and do a couple of dragging options for the same object, for instance, if I drag up one thing happened and if down another thing. and if an object could follow the dragging finger it would be awesome!

Yes, please. This would allow for a scrollbar that actually moves up and down with the content. Moving scrollbars have been almost entirely left out.

drag vertically, left, right

Yeah this would be great, I need to be able to perform vertical drag to change a setting.
