+1 I work for an enterprise company and only have access to v.13 on my laptop. Trying to open a file created in v.16 and can't. I need it for a project due tomorrow :(

+1 for older versions compatibility.
I and my students are in the same boat as Newton and Jennifer Young. And as Newton mentioned, we too are considering dumping XD in favor of Sketch. SO FRUSTRATING. With our students, the Adobe brand is becoming synonymous with a large, faceless monopoly that doesn't care about its customers.

+1 for older versions compatibility.
Indesign has this neat feature of exporting to IDML file that can be read by older versions. We desperately need this feature in XD.

yes, it's a giant problem to share files and other mac can't open them because they can't be updated, there should be an option to export as in Indesign that is saved as IDML or something like that for other versions, please help!

For Sencha ExtJS we offer our customers 1000+ stencils of our framework components. Most of our customers work on Windows. We are now receiving many complaints from our customers since they are unable to open our XD stencils.
We need backward compatibility feature.

And with the last update, you also need macOS 10.12 or earlier.................

This needs to be stated clearly and MASSIVELY in the upgrade process. "If you share XD files with others, please be aware that there is no backward compatibility and no options to export to older versions of XD.
Not everyone can upgrade their OS on a whim.

I have the same problem as reported by Jennifer Young: a lab full of students with an old version of XD.
My institution is considering replacing XD with Sketch or another better-supported app.We really need a backward compatibility feature on XD.

Hi I have a lab full of students who can't open their files on our institutions version of XD, we installed on the 9th August, apparently there was an upgrade on the 21st August, so now they can't open files they worked on at home using the upgraded version in class on our older version! Can you please make a feature that allows users to see backwards!! Works well for adobe Indesign users to be able to do this. Just remember institutions can't always keep up with these rapid upgrades and we are trying to train our design students to use your product, otherwise we will have to go back to using Invision as its easy for students to access, is online and they can set up a free account. Design students are your future customers so please consider this!

Newer versions of XD require an up-to-date version of the Windows operating system. Enterprise customers may not have control over their version of the OS and therefore, cannot update XD.
Saving to an older version is necessary (or, make XD updates work on older versions of windows).

Need the ability to export an earlier version of XD to collaborate with someone who has an old version of XD on their PC. This older version was approved and installed by a large organization so having them upgrade to the latest version would be almost impossible. Thanks.
