Drag select multiple items

It's hard to describe but the thing is: In Adobe XD it's not possible to to what's shown in the attachment (it's Affinity Designer). I hope you get what I mean. It's about the fact that I cant select multiple layers without also selecting the underlying layer.

This should be a standard in every design softwares, there are softwares that give both inclusive and exclusive selection, but Adobe has never been a fan of Exclusive selection. They would rather that we select everything and then spend the next 5 minutes deselecting all the extra objects that came along for the ride. It teaches us patience.

Would really love this functionality! Manually selecting 20 elements is driving me crazy

Any upate on this? It's really annoying to having to select multiple elements seperately.

What do you think @Corey, will this functionality be implemented? I really hope so, because it makes selection of layers inside complex layouts so much easier!

    Thanks in advance!

@Corey Yes, that would be REALLY helpful, especially for UI's that usually contain many nested and grouped layers. Thanks in advance!

FWIW shift-option-cmd is what Affinity uses on Mac.

Are you using Affinity Design on Mac or Windows ? Control and Click on Mac brings up the context menu as per OS spec... alt-cmd-drag on mac already has a binding (inverts the selection as you draw the marquee).

The feature is easy enough to add, it's just finding the key modifier combo that isn't already standard in Adobe software for something else.
