Direct selection tool for nested objects
In Illustrator, the direct selection arrow allows me to select an object inside a group without having to select the group. When I have nested groups this can become a laborious process. This should also provide a way to select individual objects contained within different groups.
You can already direct select by holding down Cmd (Mac) or Ctrl (Win) while clicking using the Select tool.

Only select multiple items if they are in the same group! =/

That doesn't work like a direct selection of a group no matter the layer... it's nearly impossible to manage all these groups and massive numbers of vector pieces. Unruly.
All I want is to be able to lasso visuall what I want selected and then allow me to make that a group or new group... And to maintain a group's name using the first selected layer.

Feature not completed - we can only select items from the single group only, not universally across multiple groups. Please fix this its almost half 2018

Yes, but you can only select multiple items if they are in the same group. Is this correct? So, changing colors universally is very very difficult. The Illustrator direct select tool is a paradigm that works well. Can you confirm that this is a feature in development or not?
