Carousel / Side-scroll / Horizontal Scroll

Ability to create and customise content carousels or slideshow type scrollable areas.

Currently there is a "scroll" feature in build, but it seems to be about page scroll and up/down scrollable areas.

Hi everyone,

I’m excited to announce that with XD 30 we’ve added support for Scroll Groups. Try it out and please let us know your feedback.

Use these resources to learn more about the feature:

There are a few different elements here:

  • Pure sideways scrolling of the entire artboard. This is not supported yet, but it also doesn’t seem like it would address the use cases listed here – everything seems to require a fixed header that doesn’t scroll, and often wants to “lock” the endpoint of the scroll position to increments of one whole screen width (so you can’t leave it in between screens). These use cases might need richer microinteractions support (https://adobexd.uservoice.com/forums/353007/suggestions/12869229-animation-microinteractions)
  • Sideways scrolling of just a region within the artboard, with most of the artboard staying fixed. E.g. the “AppleStore.gif” attachment or the Android slideable-top-navigation pattern linked below. For this, please upvote https://adobexd.uservoice.com/forums/353007/suggestions/12869166-scrollable-area-not-whole-artboard

If there are additional features you think are needed for these use cases, please let us know here. Otherwise, I suggest we eventually merge this into the “scrollable area” feature request.

totally agree with this. Need the ability to determine scroll area and direction.

I should not only be able to scroll vertical for the entire page, I should be able to lock certain areas so that they don't scroll either

Add the ability to create Horizontal Scrolling containers to demonstrate slideshows and scrolling sub-menus on mobile devices.

I would like to be able to scroll through a list left and right, much like how Netflix does with the different lists on their homepage. It should work something like a carousel.

    It is an implementation example.

    - Click the scroll area button to the right of the repeat grid button to activate it.

    - The part projecting to the outside of the artboard is the scroll range.

    - Double-click the object to edit its contents.

It would be awesome to have a sort of slide show module you can drag onto the artwork. The module would be resizable like any rectangle and it would be similar to the "repeat grid" where you can drop multiple images and text.

In edit mode you can see/edit the contents of each slide.

It comes with right/left arrow objects you can edit graphically and small circles are added dinamically acording to the amount of slides. You can choose to hide the arrows and circles if you want.

By default it just works with the arrows and it allows you to specify the scrolling speed/ease. But you can choose to make it work automatically every x seconds.
