Axure has a component of text input field that really functions as an input field when running the prototype. Very easy! Adobe XD should have this too. All the solutions we have just work outside Adobe XD. The best way, as we Adobe XD users expect, is to work inside Adobe XD, not as a plugin or export kit. It's a must have!

This feature is totally necessary, form validation, in general, would be very helpful as well, to test error messages

when user can enter dummy name and login and operate like real app interface

This feature will make a lot of difference for me at the moment. I am testing some designs that requires users to input text into the textbox.

Do I read correctly that this feature has been under review since 2016? Is Adobe still supporting this software?

Well Adobe? Essential to forms. During usability tests I have to explain that it just a prototype, blaim xd not the design, and that they cannot not enter the value they have to. This is bad.

Its really essential. Having no interactive filed in XD make it totally useless to create perfect prototypes.

It's a very basic feature which must be there, if Adobe want more designers to use XD.

Wowza, almost 4 years to the day and still no input fields in XD...

I don't expect XD to become a fully fledged prototyping tool but having to recreate whole designs in Axure to demonstrate basic input is getting really old.

Tries Adobe XD, marvelling at how easy it is to use, how smooth the animations are and how useful the inbuilt dev hand off code snippets are.

Then tries to create a text input field for a basic interaction and critical for a prototype requested by banking client and fails miserably.

This feature and GIF insertions sound so basic for a program who is designed for design apps/web. The lack of them makes me so frustrated. Please make this possible :(
