Having a pencil will make it so much better for Ui illustrations and masking complicated items in a cool way. Also wireframing would be taken to a whole new level.

A few years ago we would draw wireframes and design concepts, however with Xd I just use wirefrming components to create this now however the pen tool is not as free for creating ideas quickly.Matt Brogan

Figma has a very nice basic photo editing suit built in. Exposure, Brightness & Contrast. Saves time when creating prototypes. Xd prides itself on speed (its the best for that) however this image dealing is terrible. Having to go into photoshop just to add a little more exposure is very bad.

Yes, I know this is a little off topic from pure product design and many other third party plugins do it really well however a DSM that can sync changes, and push and pull design system assets at an online source for developers, designers and anyone who would need to maintain the branded styles. Very much how Invision DSM works where companies can create a source of truth for maintaining styles. Yet update via Xd and push to the DSM.
It's great having these components with Xd but with no real connection to developers its annoying because the cost of other products guides designers to use other Ux tools. Figma has a sweet plugin with Toolabs where designers create the Ui and add all the design system assets from Figma (turn into tokens) a one click.
It would be really cool to see Adobe smash a DSM.
