Import Videos & Animated GIFs to show in interactive preview
Support to import a video or animated GIFs to simulate animations or even playable video.

Hello everyone! I’m excited to announce that in XD 45 (released today 10/26), you will be able to import MP4 video into your XD designs.
To ensure platform compatibility and performance across desktop, web and mobile preview, your video must be:
MP4
H.264
AAC audio
under 15 MB
4K or under resolution.
Enjoy and we can’t wait to see what you create!
XD does not support Animated GIF, so if you are still looking for that, please start a separate request and vote on it.

Agreed. In order for this to be a truly useful prototyping / interaction design tool we need support for video and animated Gifs.

I'm using XD right now. I am super frustrated because I can't get it to render an animated gif. Here's my animated gif...
It's got all the animation I want it to have... But, for some reason it does nothing. If the prototype is rendering in the browser, why would there need to be additional functionality to process what it should do by nature in the browser...

This should seriously be a bug. Not being able to use animated gifs in a simulation mode that uses the browser... Did you seriously write code to disable this functionality? WOW, Rookie decision.

It would be nice to add a few animated gifs to the project. Progress bar. Maybe a logo animation...

I'd like to use this product for a new project but I just can't unless I can import video, audio and animations. Please fix this!

I agree, Adobe has to make it happen asap before the users go away...

What a disappointment - I expected Adobe User Experience to work seamlessly with other Adobe apps, and support importing digital video generated in Adobe Animate, After Effects, Premiere, etc...
What's the work around???

Would love to get elements moving in my prototypes. Is this possible yet? I put in a gif but it doesn't animate, it just imported like a picture.

Yes, excellent idea! Need it for loading animations / Vector animations / basically all new types of user interaction for apps feature animation nowadays

The ability to import/play/stop video would be EXTREMELY helpful. Looking forward to it :) The program is AWESOME btw.

Animation is needed as UX indicators to make the user behave as wanted. GIFs good, perhaps SVG animation as well?

As you (adobe XD development team) look at video and animation support please consider:
• There needs to be a way to support video playback while offline and viewing through the XD iPhone app. Simple links to Vimeo or YouTube aren't useful for me.
• The ideal use of video would be to allow the option to loop it or play and stop. An enhanced feature would be to allow the playback to loop around a portion of the video (from 4 to 6 seconds) and an option to "go to and play" video at say 10 seconds.
• Although GIF support is great, I agree that Animate CC support (with interaction) would be better.
