Import Videos & Animated GIFs to show in interactive preview

Support to import a video or animated GIFs to simulate animations or even playable video.

Hello everyone! I’m excited to announce that in XD 45 (released today 10/26), you will be able to import MP4 video into your XD designs.

To ensure platform compatibility and performance across desktop, web and mobile preview, your video must be:

MP4
H.264
AAC audio
under 15 MB
4K or under resolution.

Enjoy and we can’t wait to see what you create!

XD does not support Animated GIF, so if you are still looking for that, please start a separate request and vote on it.

    need really animation like prinicpal then it would be best softwere in the world and offocurce it has already nice softwere for desigining but we need animation on it, so we can make diffrent type of intraction design

    Any updates on this? I also want to use an animated GIF for my project. I have a series of screens in my XD prototype and only one of them has animated content, such as highlighting a part of UI and make that highlighting element disappear within 2 seconds. The entire XD demo is helping us understand overall user flow but that only one screen I am not able to create in XD itself since there is no support for GIFs. I wish we could use different image formats in XD. :(

    Essential to simulate App experience imho as a second best choice after being able to animate elements within XD

    XD makes no sense for me to use without animations. I need to show the UX of the game features, and animations are a very big part of this!

    I am creating a little fun thing for my team as an interactive xmas card where I wanna people click several times and finally land on a page to see an animation, but somehow I couldn't do it in XD... I wish there's a way to merge animation/gifs with interactions!
