Import Videos & Animated GIFs to show in interactive preview

Support to import a video or animated GIFs to simulate animations or even playable video.

Hello everyone! I’m excited to announce that in XD 45 (released today 10/26), you will be able to import MP4 video into your XD designs.

To ensure platform compatibility and performance across desktop, web and mobile preview, your video must be:

MP4
H.264
AAC audio
under 15 MB
4K or under resolution.

Enjoy and we can’t wait to see what you create!

XD does not support Animated GIF, so if you are still looking for that, please start a separate request and vote on it.

    the integration of videos would be extremely helpful. the classic use case would be a video sequence that is played when a scroll position is reached. it would make the protype much more realistic and the customer could better imagine how the final product works.

    We're waiting for gif compatibility for web design many or projects needs some gifs elements to showcase good design to clients. It would be grateful if next update includes Gif support.

    Had to use Figma for gif prototypes. I prefer working in .Xd tho...

    I suppose XD was made mainly to be able to sell on an experience before actually building it.
    So, Adobe understands how hard it is to ask a client to "IMAGINE" something, as XD is supposed to show what they're supposed to imagine.
    I just had to put a watermark on a vid's placeholder stating: Imaging the video playing.
    Now the client is asking somewhere else if they can build the prototype better!!!
    Imagine that :(
    3 years and no solution from Adobe...
