Import Videos & Animated GIFs to show in interactive preview
Support to import a video or animated GIFs to simulate animations or even playable video.
Hello everyone! I’m excited to announce that in XD 45 (released today 10/26), you will be able to import MP4 video into your XD designs.
To ensure platform compatibility and performance across desktop, web and mobile preview, your video must be:
under 15 MB
4K or under resolution.
Enjoy and we can’t wait to see what you create!
XD does not support Animated GIF, so if you are still looking for that, please start a separate request and vote on it.

Can't use Xd to make a great mockup, if I can't show the expected area where there would be a video background/animation - why isn't this a feature??
Peter Szep commented
DEFINITELY want to be able to present prototypes that show the embedded videos. I actually can't believe it's not already a part of XD, video is such an integral part of websites today, this is kinda a no-brainer. Or even worse an are-you-kidding-me?

This would take Adobe XD from "pretty much unusable" to "OMG THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER" -- drop everything and implement; it'll bring at least some joy to my life

At this point, we need to accept that no one is reading these and no one is implementing them. If you can, you need to stop using Adobe XD

and yet another month, another year without basic simple animated GIF support.....

Please please please, do not ignore this feature
I think this request shouldn't be ignored.
Just browsing through all these features requests - funny to notice Figma has implemented nearly all of them, and in the past 12-18 months. Seriously people - just move to Figma and save yourself the pain of waiting for simple updates.

For me, this was another "Surely XD can handle animated… no…?" moment.
Also the comment spam in here, geeze…

Thanks for sharing it to us
Adobe, what is happening with this feature?
We need this solved, the only reason we have XD in the office is because figma doesn't offer a good offline support, but my boss is actually considering to go to figma because the animated gif support.
11.500 votes is not a good number for fixing this?

How is this not a feature yet.... Only reason I keep using adobe is because thats what we have license for at my office. I'm starting to push for a change...

I'm moving to Figma from today. Still unable to add simple gif's. Yo Adobe Restaurant, please add spoons before I come to to your restaurant to have dinner. Please for the love of god. Its not about Figma having this feature, Its about UX/UI designers like us who constantly want to develop interactive animated prototypes. So, even a first grade kid will know why this feature is so basic like spoon in restaurant. Adobe is so hectic. We've to drop feedback for adding spoon in suggestion box. 100 years later adobe restaurant is like okay feature started. You guys are the god of speed man.

please for the love of all that is simple and should have been addressed a long time ago! I have always been adiehard xd user but I have had a few problems lately where I have had to either jump through ridiculous hoops or explain to a client that my prototyping tool cannot handle something ... and the problem is so simple it makes me feel like they probably think I just don't know how. Last time I needed to incorporate gifs, I just used Figma.
