Document forward compatibility

I am facing a serious issue. I can't open xd file that is created with a newer version in an older version of xd. Here I update my xd app regularly to get new features but my colleague gets irritated to update it regularly. Can there be a feature to convert the same file into the older version when they try to open the file?

    Just want to let Adobe know we stopped using Xd in our organization because of this issue. It is INSANE that this issue exists and how much time we've wasted. The issue only became worse with working from home and people using their home computers, including computers that can't run the latest versions of Adobe CC because they are stuck on High Sierra. I really wish someone would make adequate replacements for Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign so we can dump Adobe entirely. I used to love Adobe but now I hate it because the company just spits in the eyes of users.

    I think this is insane as we collaborate on documents as a team and need to share in the cloud. It means I will be stitching up my colleagues when I update and locking them out of documents. Come on Adobe. think!

    This is remarkably short sighted, given that your updates are also incompatible with older systems/older machines, and teams will sometimes have members who are locked out of the updates. You need to figure out some kind of solution for backwards compatibility. It's really basic functionality.

    Backwards compatability. You need to provide backwards compatability for files to be worked on by multiple people.
    This is unacceptable that you don't have this feature from the start. It should be a given that you don't need to be updated to the latest version of XD to work on a file.

    Since this tool allows UXers to create products. Did you ask endusers what they want then your engineering department. Allow us to use new version files into old or don't release the updates often.

    It is horrendously bad that I am unable to open files created with a previous version of XD. It is incomprehensible that I have to do that. I simply can not do my work because you made it so hard to retrieve old files.

    Also can you make it backwards compatible for like alteast +-3 versions ahead and behind it?

    XD flashes back when modifying text
    I'm a big fan of Adobe XD, and it has a nice repeating grid, which has an advantage over sketch, where you can open the sketch file, but sketch doesn't open the Adobe XD file.The most important thing is that such a good software is still free, attracting countless designers to use it.
    But XD makes me very upset, the old version is unable to open the new version, even if the very similar version is not compatible.Compared to AI, this is a drawback of XD software.
    I have recently had a very important file that needs to be modified with XD, and it will flash back when I modify the text. I tried a lot of ways to solve it, updated the software, and even reinstalled the input software, but it still didn't help.(important!Is important!Very important!Wait online!!

    Be able to save file with backwards compatibility so if versions are different we are not locked out from files

    Currently Mac is on 24
    Windows 23
    Can't open file on windows that is produced on Mac

    I would say if you are working as a team on the same document its imperative everyone be on the same version and agree to upgrade in tandem. We do have backwards compatibility and that is super important to us. "Forward" compatibility on the other hand (your co-workers older client working with newer documents and features), not so much. This is quite a hard problem.
