Download assets as JPGs from Design Specs
Please create the option to download assets as JPGs from design specs. As of right now, there are only options to download as PNG or PDF. JPG seems pretty odd to exclude. Additionally, it would be great if you could have the ability to control your batch export preferences.
This is now available in the latest version of XD! Make sure you republish before accessing the design spec to access this feature.

Photos are usually JPG, so why only PNG as image format to download (PDF is just stupid).
PNG for bitmap photos makes file sizes too large (as they are lossless).
If you can't add JPG compression settings to XD on export, then how about ability to retain original imported file (which we could optimise before bringing in to XD via shortpixel or even save for web)?
Right now we have to turn ALL photos off from export and send them to the developer separately (what a waste of time). -

If you could add in optimization options, download a jpg @50% quality, to allow developers to download optimized assets to use rather than the large files added to the XD file.
I like how in PS you could edit the layer name to specify the quality/compression, so something like that would be nice so the developers didn't have to request new assets that are a smaller file size. -

While you look into this it would be a good idea to future proof this feature with possible .webp file types.

I also require this.. just now I have replaced some preview images with licenced stock ones after sign off (jpg files) and then updated the design specs for our developers to get this file and been told they can only export this as .png - This is frustrating when the original file itself is jpg!

An option to export photos as jpegs when selected as a digital asset for download when sharing developer's specs.

Our developers need jpg as it is more efficient. We need to push the ability to download assets as JPG from the design specs.

Adding my voice to this one. Definitely need more options than PNG (I've never had a developer ask me to output images as a PDF for use in a website... anyone else?).
Adding in JPG and GIF is kind of a necessity. Thanks!

Is there any progress on this request?

No clue why JPEG wouldn't be available here?!?! Crazy!!!

Yes please. Not adding JPG forces our developers to convert the PNGs to JPGs. Not unworkable, but not very efficient.

Seems that you can’t download assets in jpeg format when you share for development. Only png, pdf and svg. Can we get an ETA on this feature? This really derails the entire Share For Development workflow.

I think Adobe owes us an explanation here. How is this workable without a jpeg option. This is the worst oversight of the product thus far

Need to export to jpg. It’s missing as an option and it’s best for images. The quality of the jpgs from the export selected is manual and it should be included in the design specs as a download option
