It's now almost 3 years later and this is still a problem... If you are really so against adding scrollbars to allow people to scroll without a trackpad, at least add a grab tool or something along those line to allow scrolling. Zooming out and back in to the relevant section is a horrible UX.

If I had known about this limitation, I would have not have agreed to use XD with my team. In EVERY user study interview, the respondent is tripped up by not understanding how they are able to horizontally nor vertically scroll through grid/table data.

It is unconscionable to lack this "feature."

Same here, in user testing it's a pain if someone doesn't have a trackpad or mouse to scroll with and it's not obvious you can scroll in the first case. Has been an issue in quite a few of the sessions we've run with an XD prototype

I've experience this issue in past usability sessions. It's a huge issue with older folks.

Also, requiring the cursor to be over the prototype to scroll is a bit unrealistic.

There used to be a scrollbar in the prototype, which looks like it has been removed. The products my company designs are mainly geared towards an elderly audience, and that is one of their preferred methods of navigation.As such, it would be a really great feature to add back in for our user tests.

This option used to be in the prototypes, why was it not first voted on to remove the feature?

Yesterday we were testing some new functionality with a particularly "resistant to change" set of users so we were already on the back foot, the fact that there was no scrollbar for them to click on meant we were stuck on complaining about that for 15 minutes before we even got started on the design.

So then we had an "angry resistant to change" set of users trying to scroll using flaky Dell touch-pads.

"This is basic functionality that's been around for years .. you can't even get that right how can we trust you to design this software". - quote from user in the group.

I understand in the modern world that you and I don't need scrollbars because we're amongst it we live and breath it but there is still a generation that doesn't and is never going to change and they shouldn't be left behind.

The whole reason for using XD is so you can design the best experience for our users, if our users require a scrollbar to achieve their goal then we will build a scrollbar into the solution and the prototyping tool needs to accomodate this.

This is User Experience Design after all.

Think there should be an option to show the scroll bar in prototypes, so it gives you the best of both worlds. However, I think the priority is to fix the issue with scrolling as some people cannot scroll even by performing the correct actions ie trackpad and mouse wheel.

I think it is correct not to display scrollbars in prototypes for touch devices, because users wouldn't see them in the finished product either.
Rather than display scrollbars for all prototypes, I would make this optional for prototypes that are intended to simulate desktop products.

Overflow hidden on main div is very frustrating ... many clients can't scroll the mockup... embarrassing!!!!!

I have spent hours trying to fix this for a client. So embarrassing.

This thread (and similar) start back in Jan 2018 and the issue still remains unresolved. Totally unacceptable.

This is a basic user expectation which makes any prototype product useless without it.

If Adobe doesn't start addressing this and other issues, I will need to move to another product.

Also, Adobe employees in threads could be far more helpful by raising the issue through the most effective channel on behalf of the community rather than redirecting them to do it themselves.

I worked on a prototype where paged scrolled on preview but nothing when I share a link.
It is so annoying!

I can scroll and view then pages just fine, but when I share with my clients, none of them can scroll or view anything below the fold. What a waste of time for everyone. XD still has a long ways to go.

There are instances when I don't want to have the scroll bar, so I suggest adding an option to include the scroll bar with the preview. Make a little checkbox there.

This is a critical failure. Definitely not using XD until this is fixed

I have to agree with most of the other comments here. This is not a feature request, it's a bug report... :-(

If the client can interact and use a basic function like scroll, what is the point? Renders the whole purpose of this application a pointless exercise. Other than that its great - v. frustrating! And to see this is being flagged by users for the last 2yrs is a disappointing lack of action from Adobe.

amazing that a program for designing UX and UI has such poor UX and UI. Give us a scroll bar.
